Seeking hair bleaching advice- fabulous!

I just got a short haircut today- the douchbag faux-hawk style, and was inspired to bleach the middle strip of my head. Yes, this is likely a pre-emptive strike against my downslope to 30. No matter. I'm looking for advice on how to lighten my short black hair at home. Methods? Brands? Anyone?

Just pony up the $25 for a professional to do it. You'll thank me later.

Agreed. If you have black hair, it may take a while to get it platinum (if that's the shade you are going for) and could burn your scalp.

If you're going to look like a douche, at least look like a well groomed douche.

If you think the prospect of turning 30 is a "downslope," you need more help than a simple hairdo change can give, pal.

Amen to that. When I turned 30, I remember thinking I was "getting old" - now that I'm close to 40, I really am!

You do make a fine argument. I'll avoid the burnt scalp route. Thanks for the advice old timers!

Before you make an appointment, check to see if you have any job interviews or potential job changes coming up. I doubt that the new 'do and bleach job will be, err, career-enhancing. (You do work for a living, right?)

The goatee is timeless! Do not mock the goatee!
