Sausage or Pork topping?

The pizza place I work at recently was inspected by the health department and was given a choice to switch to a different sausage than they were already using or change the menu to pork topping.

So i wonder, what could have possibly been in it that it wasn't allowed to be called sausage?

hmm, I would be worried if it were the other way around and weren't allowed to call it pork anymore

Maybe they are using the italian sausage filling, but its not actually in the casing at any point. Thats what I use at home.

Are you the only one there? Ask the store manager or owner as we don't know enough about the situation to actually provide a good answer.

I thought sausage was a combo of pork & beef, maybe your topping is just pork?

I am actually the only one here today other than the delivery guy...i asked the owner and manager and they don't really know why either, they are just following orders...

Probably because of where the BEEF came from that was in the sausage.
