Killer fish terrifies Britain

A SAVAGE fish that eats everything it comes across, including people, has been hooked by a British fisherman — sparking fears of a deadly invasion.

The giant snakehead, originating from South-East Asia, has a mouth crammed with teeth.

It’s deadly in the water, but it can also “crawl” on land and survive out of water for up to four days.

The discovery of the fish in Linconshire, northern England, has caused widespread panic amongst conservationists and anglers.

An Environment Agency source told the Sun: “The reaction was, ‘Oh s***’. This is the ultimate invasive species - if it starts breeding here it’s a disaster.”

Andy Alder caught the snakehead in the River Witham while using a sprat as bait for pike. He told the Sun: “It had a gob full of razor-sharp teeth. To be honest it looked terrifying.”

It is believed the fish may have been smuggled in for an aquarium and illegally released.

This thing looks pretty nasty. You wouldn't want to run into one of these guys. All hail our new fish overlords.

These are the fish now taking over the Potomac river region I believe, no? MD has a big problem with these fish who have been illegally released in their waters. They eat everything in site.

Not sure if they have reached the Potomac yet, but if they did, then they are coming for you.

That's correct. I saw a special about them on National Geographic I think. Things looked pretty nasty. I guess a lot of Asian markets import them to sell and somehow they're getting released into the wild instead of being eaten.

I think we'll be safe if we, you know, stay out of the water.

Or we could do what Mrs. Brody did in Jaws 4 and hide ON AN ISLAND.

Ehh... the fish that swims into a penis and hooks itself onto the urethra is still far more fearsome in my opinion.

Yes Maryland did have a problem with these a few years ago. They cleared out ponds, etc and would leave the one pond crawl out and go on to another.

Did you read the whole article? It says: It’s deadly in the water, but it can also “crawl” on land and survive out of water for up to four days.

I think they poisoned the ponds. It doesn't matter, now that these things are out there, they're going to kill a shitload of native species as they just can't stop eating. I seriously doubt MD officials were able to kill all the snakefish/snakeheads.
