Vegas Virgin - What to do!

Headed to Vegas during the last weekend in April for a Friday-Monday stay (though I leave early on Monday). Staying at the MGM Grand and am there for a friend's bachelor party.

I perused the long sticky thread, but was a bit overwhelmed with info. What things should I plan on trying to see/do while I am there (aside from the BP related events). I am not a big gambler, though I can and do play BJ (well)and poker (ok-good).

Any recommendations are appreciated.

I never really caught on to the thrill in slots. I think I prefer games that require some skill which can affect the house odds.

Oh, I totally agree with you, Slots are the easy way to loose money. I prefer blackjack/Roulette and my newest is Baccarat

Now that you know blackjack, learn craps as soon as you get there. I learned at O'Shea's and I highly recommend it for newbies. They are very friendly and patient with people who haven't played before.

I wish someone had told this to me several years ago.

I like the guy saying that slots are the easiest way to lose money and then in the same post, praises roulette.

Anyway, we can't really help you with your question until you discuss what sort of time you're looking to have in Vegas. Are you a nightclub guy? A great food guy? Love shows? Shit like that.

If are not a big gambler but like to drink a lot, I suggest Pai Gow Poker.

I just booked my next trip to Vegas. Final Four weekend. I missed my usual Fall trip last year so I haven't been there since last spring. I'm so stoked.

Vegas is swamped during MM, but it is fun. Finding a decent place to watch the games might be tough though.

Yeah - I've been there during the first weekend of MM. Probably won't do that again.

ORLY?

I'll be there that weekend for my brother's bachelor party. Maybe we should try to meet up. I'd buy you a beer.

Oh so true (or passage mall or fashon mall)! I know better now. During the day I am either at the table or at the pool drinking and she goes on her merry credit card, soon to be maxed, way.

Re: Vegas Virgin - What to do!

Thread bump.

I'm actually heading to Vegas for my first time for my cousins bachelor party for 4-5 days next weekend for the Sweet 16 weekend.

Any advice is welcome.....most of us are in our early 30's late twenties with a couple uncles around 55-60 lol.

I don't want to get too tanked all weekend long, I'd like to keep my liver around.....but I imagine we'll be watching a lot of hoops, drinking a good amount and checking out some ta'tas.....

Re: Vegas Virgin - What to do!

If you're going to a strip club, call them in advance (like afternoon if going at night) and ask for a limo pickup and free cover. O.G. and the Rhino offer this service.

I would assume that a bachelor party weekend the entire weekend would be BP related events..?

As there were about 20 of us, we spread out during the day and early evenings, got together for a few dinners. Did only a bit of large group stuff.

It was a good time. Lost a bit too much at the tables, but had fun. Unfortunately, the marriage which was the source of the BP has already floundered. But that means we get to do it again next time around, right!
