Dr. Pepper Diet Cherry Chocolate - I had to pour it out!

Diet Dr. Pepper - yum.

The new "limited" Diet Cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper - well, it is the first glass of soda I ever took one sip of and poured it down the sink! Have you tried it? What was the worst soda you ever drank?

Soft drinks with chocolate are always a terrible idea. Somewhere I still have the can from the worst thing I ever tried. It was something like Diet Black Cherry Chocolate Fudge Vanilla. Disgusting doesn't begin to describe it.

I tried it. It might have been tolerable if it hadn't been diet, but trying to make a dessert-tasting beverage with that hideous artificial sweetener as its backbone is a no-win venture. It might have been a failure either way, but making it a diet drink guaranteed that.

As an official Arbiter of Good Taste, I officially endorse this drink and think that naysayers need to re-calibrate their taste buds.

Had I seen this, I may have avoided this bad experience in the first place!

I didn't care much for it either. Although, I thought it tasted just like a Tootsie Roll Pop.

Haha remember that stupid urban legend that went around saying that if you got a tootsie roll pop wrapper with the full Indian + Star, you could send it in for a free one?

I saw the star on the wrapper and immediately thought that.

Chocolate colas made at an actual soda fountain are good. Canned chocolate soda of any kind = NAS-TEE.

Holy Shit lol. I tried this last night and did the same exact thing. Right down the drain after the first sip.

I don't think I would even be able to take a sip. It just sounds so disgusting.

But then, I thought raspberry M&Ms were disgusting, too.

I liked it a lot. The chocolate taste is pretty strong, which I found to be great.

Doug: Why didn't ya take it back to the store you bought it from and get a refund? I wouldn't hessitate taking something back that tasted like suck (in this case, the empty can or bottle) and make 'em give me my money back!

We tried a sample of this in the grocery store the other day and I thought my husband was going to throw up. I am glad we didn't pay money for it.

Well, I just had a small glass from the 2 liter I bought - but then everyone else in the family had to verify how bad it was by having their own glass - which, they poured out!

Hey! Thanks for letting us know! You saved Treesa & me a return trip to the supermarket!

(I figure it's 'limited' for a reason... )

Next time I'm at Waldbaum's I'm picking up a can of this bad boy. Maybe it'll suck, who knows.... but man, you guys are painting a bleak picture of the new concoction, so I'm a bit nervous.

Isn't there a questions/comments 800 number on the can? If you called them and seriously told them it sucked and had to shitcan the bulk of their nasty-ass soda, wouldn't they give you an e-coupon or something for a different Dr. Pepper product? I'd think it's worth a shot, and it's a legitimate "comment" to make to the company. Hell, if a customer hated a product I was selling and I could give them a chance to try another, I'd offer it.

I just saw the commercial and inmeadiately told my wife that this sounds like a terrible idea. Dr Pepper + Cherry + Chocolate + Diet = nasty crap.

Ok, so I tried it again - I took some time, like when tasting a fine wine - and it was still nasty. The strange thing is that Diet Dr. Pepper is probably my fav. diet soda.

I have a new slogan for them:

"New Diet Chocolate Cherry Dr. Pepper, more like Vicks Formula 44 than regular Diet Dr. Pepper - and with a lingering aftertaste!"
