Dress Me

My shirt and tie inventory is low and in heavy rotation. I need to add a couple more combos as I start going to more clients in the next few months. My favorite men's store is the Knight's Chamber in my hometown of St. Cloud, Minnesota. Why? Because the last two combos picked out by Chris Bitzen, son of the owner, have been stellar. I've gotten so many compliments on them. I decided I might as well stick with what works.

The problem is, of course, I live in California. I had this idea that my mom could go to the store and take pictures of some killer combos that Chris picks out, then email me the pictures. I can then pick what I want and have them shipped to me. Another great thing about the Knight's Chamber is that they will lengthen my ties for free. This is a must, because I tie my ties in the double-windsor knot, and with my height...well, just trust me.

So my mom just sent me a few combinations and I want y'all's help picking out my next outfit. I intend on buying 1-2 shirts/ties this go round. They are $30 each, so I can't go crazy. Also, if we're not too crazy about these, I can have more options given to me. So here goes...

So that's it. Vote 1-4 from your most favorite to your least.

Oh, this is what I look like so you can get an idea of skin tones and such. I'm really white. Really blue eyes.

I'm the one with (more) hair.

I like combo 2. It's a bit jaunty and daring.

I chose 1, but every tie shown is hideous.

The older gentlemen resembles the man in the photoshop that Slayer posted many moons ago.

I voted for combo #2.

None of them. The pockets on those shirts seems huge and the ties are pretty obnoxious.

None of them are attractive in my opinion. The ties are too much. I've always equated Stacy Adams with "pimp" type shoes. My grandfather owned a clothing & shoe store for 44 years and that's what the family always thought of them.

Here's an actual current style from the Stacy Adams shoe line:

It's great though, that they are willing to lengthen your ties! It's tough to find tall ties in any variety.

Waiting to see shirt/tie combo sets 5-9.

Yeah, the ties are all pretty "urban" looking, and would be more at home at the big Sunday service at Bethel AME than in an accounting office. Call me stuffy, but I've always liked the ties from Paul Frederick, and they stock most ties in long.

Yeah... not so sure about those ties.. but to each their own.
I like all four shirts.. I just don't like loud ties.
If you were going for a job interview, I would STRONGLY encourage you not to wear any of those ties.. or shirts. But if this is your normal work attire, and this is your style.. then go for it.

If I was forced to pick one... I would go with number four. I don't love it.. but it's the most quiet tie in the bunch.

I have to agree. None of those ties are my style, so I can't say I recommend any. However, given the picture you put up and what your tastes are I'd go with tie #1 (yes I voted).

I do like me some Ike, but the shirts and ties are rather $$$, even on sale. http://www.ikebehar.com/Ike%20Behar%20Stock%20Book.htm

just go to nordstrom's and have their "stylist" help you out. $30 shirt/ties ain't getting you anywhere and you might as well go to marshall's and pay $15 less.

oh, and those are hands down 4 of the ugliest ties i've ever seen.

I agree with the others; those ties are ugly.
