Sweetie, have someone bring you some hot and sour soup, it will help. Also, drink plenty of water and take whatever pain reliever suits you best.

Feel better soon!

That's ridiculous Kitty.

I won't get sick from reading this thread though, right?

a week ago last Sunday I couldn't even drink liquids I'd just throw it up... had chills, slept alot. Come Monday I was able to eat a little but then by Tuesday I just got worse.... it's the hacking and coughing I can't stand when I'm trying to sleep - ugh... I just want to sleep, I'm soooo flippin' tired. The whole week was shot - missed the Super Furry Animals show on Sunday night, missed "El Cid" at the AFI (which I read wasn't worth it anyway) was supposed to go to NYC for a Hoyas game and a few Broadway shows - all canned.

Damn Giles! That SUCKS BIG TIME!

(Here's Hopin' you & wendersfan get over this bastard thing quickly! )

BTW: Treesa agrees with Kitty and says that hot & sour soup is G-R-E-A-T!

Gosh, CB. It makes me feel sad to hear that you're not feeling so good.

Treesa is just at the tail-end of her bout with the Thick Mucus Post Nasal Drip Cough Bugger Germ Thing. She's had it for like 7 days.

Now I don't understand this, but I had it for like '3' hours on Sunday, and that was it! And I've been feeling just fine ever since then, and I was all over Tree...holding her & rocking her in my arms & rubbing her shoulders & feet & scratching her back & brushing her hair and feeding her and being her nurse and whatnot. I started gargling immediately when I started feeling that 'something' in my throat and within a few moments I horked up one big THICK loogie, and that was it!

I can't EMPHASIZE it enough & I can't COUN'T how many times that when I started to feel 'something' coming on (in my throat or what have you), how simple GARGLING SAVED THE FRIGGIN' DAY! It's like 'MAGIC' or something!

Anyway, get as much rest as you can. Maybe that'll help you to heal quicker.

(Oh! & it can't hurt to GARGLE!!! )

All the Best,

-Paul

If you have a tummyache, it is not the flu, I regret to tell you. Influenza is a respiratory illness and does not involve the gastrointestinal tract.

P.S. Feel better, regardless.

There ain't no such an animal. When people said "stomach flu" around my mother, she gave them a lecture straight from her diploma nursing school curriculum, circa 1945.

Shouldn't that be Chicken Noodle? or have the Chinese taken over everything now?

I may have to forget my rule about not open mouth kissing other dudes, because the flu would be a nice chance to stay home for a few days.

I usually take enough of something to knock myself out. Sleeping through a sickness makes everything much better.

When I am awake, chicken broth with broken up angel hair pasta is the best thing for me. Lots of movies, and generally milking the illness enough to get the ol' lady to feel really sorry for me is what's on the agenda.

So far everyone in my office, my father and my gf have all been sick as hell... and I'm the only one that hasn't gotten it. I feel like Robert Neville and I have to fight off the infected. So far, so good. I think my good diet and gym regimen keep me healthy enough to fight off any diseases looking to invade my body.

I don't know if I had the flu, but I was out with a 102 temperature for a couple days one weekend and it left me with an ear infection that really messed with my equilibrium. The first day I couldn't get out of bed without falling over. The next day, I stumbled around work like a drunk sailor. Went to the doctor and he said to stay home and rest.

I got a horrible stomach virus in the middle of the Van Halen show here last week. I missed about 1/3 of the show because I was constantly n the bathroom vomiting and crapping. I was up all night vomiting until I had nothing else in me to come out. For the next 2 days after that stopped, I had the flu-like aches. It sucked.
