And the dumbass award goes to...

Today at work a coworker asked me to wash her muddy clothes. When they were done drying, I noticed some white spots on her shirt. I had used bleach on them I felt so bad. I guess i get the dumbass award of the day.

I'm used to washing laundry with bleach and I even wash my clothes in bleach and dont mind the spots that show up.

She was not very happy. So I guess its a fashion no-no to have spots on clothes. Does anyone here wash there clothes in bleach?

You use bleach on colors? You don't mind the spots? Where do you work that you can show up with spots on your clothes, and no one thinks anything of it? A peep-show booth?

If you weren't responsible for the mud, why were you washing them? Where do you work where you get muddy and have laundry services available but also wear clothes nice enough to be mad when they get ruined? Why don't you mind the white spots on your clothes? Why does this thread have too many questions and not enough answers?

I would never wash my female co-workers' clothes... Well, if she's damn hottie, I would wash her bras and undies only.

I think the person that asks a coworker to wash their muddy clothes is more deserving of the award than you.

Okay.. I think I may understand what's going on here...
Are you allowed to bring home your uniforms to wash them or do they have to be washed on site? My Dentist office tells me that when you deal w/ blood, you can't allow any clothing to leave the premises and need to be washed on site. Is this the case in Vet's offices too?

Standard bleach on something besides whites? Haven't you heard of color-safe bleach? GAH!

we can bring them home and wash them. It was her spare shirts that got muddy. I do a lot of laundry so she just figured i could do a load for her. I'm so used to putting bleach in the washer with the detergent it was a force of habit. I really don't mind wearing clothes with spots on them. Not really a big deal to me. Especially since i clean cages with bleach sometimes I can get bleach spots on my clothes I'm just used to it.

I think you should be able to use bleach with colours, as long as it is mixed in before you add the clothes. At least that's what my Javex bottle indicates. I've never had a problem with it.

YMMV, greatly...
