4 pixels of snow shut down the city!

Seriously, it's all over the news, schools are closed, roads are closed, it's the end of the world! There's snow in Portland, OR!!!!

Ok, here are my pictures. I hope I did this right, I don't use photobucket very often.

The last picture is of raccoon tracks on my driveway. There's a large male that hangs out in our neighborhood. He has NO fear of anything.

Are those your own personal photos or screencaps from "The Day After Tomorrow"? I fear for your safety!

The cats, though trepidacious, seem to hold the courage to venture out. Perhaps there is hope for the rest of us.

He didn't venture out; I tossed his ass out there then laughed as he bunny hopped back inside at warp speed.

The Blizzard of '78 was 30 years ago this month -- has it returned for its day of reckoning?

Maybe I don't know my weather patterns well but isn't snow in Portland during the winter normal?

Really? What keeps snow from reaching you? OR is definitely north enough to get cold weather.

I have more snow on my front steps than you have in your entire yard. School closings. HA!

We're in a valley so snow from the west falls in the coastal mountain range, snow from the east falls on the Cascades. We don't get snow from the south and anything from the North hits WA state long before it hits us.

We're pretty safe from most nasty weather here in the Willamette Valley.

I've only ever lived in Michigan and Indiana, so I know what REAL snow is. I've always wanted to live in a state where everything shut down when you get a dusting. I laugh at your 4 pixels!! :-D

Man, with the storm we had this morning, your governor would have called a state of emergency and rushed to his fallout shelter for the next 5 years.

Amazed me how panicky some big cities get for the slightest amount of snow... we have had over 5 feet so far this winter.

I know what you mean. The company I work for has a location in SC. The whole state basically shut down because of a 6 inch snow fall a few years back. We in MA had a good laugh at hearing their stories about cars being all over the road. Our roads don't even get plowed for only 6 inches.

Woke up to a blanket of white up here in northern Seattle. From the sounds of the rugrats outside, sounds like schools have closed also. Now where's my coffee.

Is it as funny as when some of the more southern states get snow? I've seen some funny videos of people in those areas driving in a dusting of snow.

Went we went to Portland in 2005 to see U2 (Dec 19, 2005) it snowed the day before and it shut the whole city down. We had a great time walking around and seeing a deserted city...
