I work in an office with over 200 people, and I've noticed every woman over 40-ish that still has long hair also has their bangs cut short.

Why is this? One length hair looks so much better (IMHO).

Please, Otter, school me!

<---- 32, long hair, no bangs

I don't want to look like I did when I was a kid. My mom and aunt are in the over-40 long hair with bangs club.

You can sort of see the no bangs thing, I'm just showing off the length in this pic

I just curl mine under, they're not long enough for "feathering".

I'm too lazy to curl mine, I just blow my hair dry and that's it. My cats get in the way when I try to use my curling iron, anyway -- chase the cord and stuff.

PrincessT: you have beautiful hair.

I just thought of another reason I don't grow my bangs out -- mine tend to break off if they get too long.

I'm bothered more by women of ANY age who wear those low-rider jeans and have that icky blob of fat hanging out. Unless you have about 2 percent body fat, wearing hip huggers and low riders should be punishable by hanging.

Not a fan of the "muffin top"?

Oh, and here's a hilariously straightforward Wikipedia article on the subject. I particularly love the muffin pic...

I haven't worn bangs in eons. I used to hate my prominent forehead when I was younger but now I really like it.

Often when I see women in bangs, I want to brush them away so I can see their forehead. I think foreheads make you look smarter.

Eh...there's a difference between a Muffin Top and just being fat, which I think the example they used is. To me a Muffin Top is when she looks decent in the jeans/pants if you looked from the waist band down, but then you see the jeans are pushing the fat out the top.

And you either get bangs, the old hippie look, or the woman who doesn't care anymore and chops her hair off and perms it cause 'it's easy to take care of..'

<-----41, very long hair, no bangs. I've been thinking of getting bangs though; maybe I'm showing my age.
