How do you NOT associate words & things with stuff that you wanna forget about?

It seems to me, that as I go through my day, there will be various things that pop-up from time to time, and with no fault of their own, they'll remind me of stuff that really bothers me or something that I'm struggling with or want to forget or don't want to think about, and try as I can, (((KA-POW!!!))), there something else will jump up into the fore-front of my mind, to knock me in the head and before I know it, one thing will lead to another, and I'll be prancing down that merry memory lane of unwanted thoughts that contain the EXACT-DAMN-THINGS I don't wanna have to think about!

How in the WORLD can you get through your day without associating stuff with something that bothers you is what I wanna know!

Oh! & if you would be so kind (this is not a 'demand' or anything like that, but if you would) please start off your posts with:

'Dear Losin' it in Los Angeles...'

Thank You.

Actually, for one reason or another, when I think of 'tree' I think of, 'slobber'. &

Dear Losin' it in Los Angeles...

To NOT associate words & things with stuff that I wanna forget about, I write the words or things on a piece of paper and flush it down the toilet. On a bad day that is a lot of words and things and a plunger is required to complete the exercise. PS there are spiders under the lid of your toilet that run from the light but will creep when you sit, so use caution the next few times you go potty.

Sincerely in Cincinatti

Dear Losing it in Los Angles:

The trick is to pack the bad memories into a tight little ball and push them so far down that they'll never surface again. If there are any words that associate with bad memories, pack them into little balls and push them down, too. If there are still other words which bring the first words to mind, stuff them too. And so forth.

It helps to warn friends and co-workers not to use any words that are associated with bad words. If they don't help out, they weren't your friends anyway. Cast them from your life.

Keeping your mind free of bad words makes a healthier you.

The trick is to find ways to associate the "hot spots" with more pleasant things.

For instance, if you had a bad experience in Cincinnati, and thinking about the city makes you wince, go to Cincinnati again, with a limo full of bikini babes, and overwrite that memory with a new, more entertaining one.
