Does anyone use TV trays?

I've been trying to find a decent set of TV trays. Unfortunately, they are all of such crappy quality, that they're cracked before I can even get them out of the box.

If you do use them, recommend me a set, please.

I bought a wood one from Linnens and things like 10 years ago but it was not a set. Still looks pretty good through the stuck on food, kind of psychedelic.

^ I think those are TV table things... The tray I got has little legs so you can either use them or lay it flat on your legs or lap.

I have this kind of papa, mama and baby bear nesting teak tables from the 60's. They double as an end table when we aren't using them.

TV trays are about the only pieces of furniture in my house besides my futon and bed. I have 3 $10 TV trays that I bought from wal-mart that seem to do the job. One holds up my TV, the other holds up my alarm clock, and the last is my computer desk.

Yeah, living in a nyc apartment, we have no room for a kitchen table so they are a necessity... I think ours are from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I would recommend a placemat when using a wooden tray since I have heard that hot plates can sometimes warp the wood.

Oh shiz! I hadn't heard that, and I've been putting hot ass things on my TV trays (bought at Kohls about 3 years ago) all the time. Come to think of it, at least two of them are wobbly as fuck. Maybe that's why?

That's the most recent set I bought. The stand broke before I had it put together. I'll try the other places people have suggested, maybe I can find something that will hold up better.

Somebody is using it for a computer now, but it could be modified for a kick ass TV tray!

Those table mate things are so expensive.

I got a set of 4 and I can't get them to work right. They are in a closet right now.

This site ====> http://www.vermontcountrystore.com

has several of the metal tray sets, but they too are expensive. I bought a set of wooden tables for $35 at Wal-mart last year, not as great, but ok.
