That happened to me last year. But it was FedEx. And I even mailed it on the 20th for next day air. It was an extremely important gift and it did not get delivered until after Christmas.
After a heated rant to their CS, they refunded my money.

Ironically, a software tutorial book I had on order forever just happened to ship Friday. I got it yesterday. Of course if it was something I was really anxious to get it would have been late.

UPS rocked this year for me, I had ordered a HDTV and I was to get it on Wed, but I got it yesterday and the post ofiice also rocked, I got Bladerunner yesterday, Amazon said maybe the 30th.

Yes, UPS does indeed suck.
Ordered my gf a necklace from Tiffany's on the 16th, 2nd day air. Her birthday is on the 20th. Tracked package from NJ to the UPS hub which is just a few miles from my apt. on the 19th. So far so good. But the next morning, there's a note on the tracking sysytem that says they routed the package to the incorrect hub, which is much further away. Still got an "out for delivery" message at 5:30 a.m. However, the package didn't arrive and was returned to hub that evening, essentially ruining my gf's birthday.
Morning of the 21st, the tracking system said "out for delivery" again at 5 a.m. Spent most of the day at home waiting for delivery to show up in fear they'd require a signature.
Didn't arrive until 7:30 p.m. that evening.
I hate UPS.

Both of my sisters sent us Christmas gifts more than 10 business days before Christmas. One went UPS, the other USPS.
Neither package arrived here for Christmas.

I just recently signed up for Amazon Prime and ordered something to be delivered next day air on Saturday. It showed up Monday. Ordered something yesterday as well and it should be here tomorrow.
So far, UPS is kicking ass for me around the holidays!
