Rodney King's Been Shot!
Posted Nov 29th 2007 2:26PM by TMZ Staff

Rodney King, famous for a videotaped beating from Los Angeles police back in 1991, was shot and wounded on a San Bernardino street corner late Wednesday.

King called Rialto police just before midnight to report the shooting. According to Sgt. Don Lewis, King was struck in the face and arm -- with what appeared to be pellets or birdshot. When police arrived at King's home, they reported that King and others inside appeared drunk. The man got shot in the face -- he deserves a drink!

King was taken to a local hospital, and his wounds were not believed to be life-threatening

This guy has at least nine lives!

I still remember watching the video the first time they showed it on KTLA on the 10 o'clock news here in LA in March of 1991.

I guess that answers his question about whether we can all get along.

Yeah, but it's not a lethal load. If I'm shooting at someone I damn sure don't want them getting back up.

you can see how it would be more advantageous to be shot with a shotgun loaded with a birdshot (like number 12) rather than 000

I know a man who was shot in the face with a shotgun and 'only' lost his sight.

It depends on what they mean by "bird shot". A size 4 turkey load will blow your head off. A turkey is a bird.

I remember when Cheney shot the old guy. My hunting friends were laughing about how the media played it. They basically said, "It's a 28 guage with birdshot. The guy was 78 years old. You could shoot him with a rubber band gun and he would have a 50/50 chance of dying. That tells you how overblown this is."

Still makes me chuckle.

However, I will say that if you shoot a piece of plywood with both buckshot and with smaller stuff, there is some serious damage from the small stuff if you are fairly close.
