Did they leave the water in the sink running?

At least they will lock their door now. I'd buy a gun too, but that is just me.

This seems like a joke thread for some reason. Are you guys sure this is legit?

Dammit! That's what I came here to say.

Sorry to hear about the robbery. Thankfully, your parents are okay and that is all that really matters right now.

I hope you're able to replace everything that you lost fairly quickly.

Age doesn't mean squat. A few months ago there was a story in my state, where an elderly man (in his late 70s to mid 80s) awoke to the sound of breaking glass. He grabbed his gun and saw someone coming through the window, audibly told them not to enter and that he was armed. The guy continued to crawl in and the homeowner put a bullet straight between his eyes.

Had he not owned that gun, its very likely he and his wife would have been brutally attacked or murdered.

No. *I* would have a gun. If they are trained right, it could help.

We need more of that to happen. F' the criminal, if more of them died, they would think twice about B&Es.

I have a friend who breeds Rhodesian Ridgebacks. He has about 14 of them. An intruder might get in, but he wouldn't leave.

ZOMBIE DOG!

But seriously, it's great that your folks are okay. Good luck with the investigation and insurance, etc.

We were burglarized back in 2000. It happened during the day while my wife and I were at work. My wife came home and found the place ransacked. Overall they got about $4K worth of electronics and computer equipment.

The feeling of insecurity after an event like that is overwhelming. Insurance covered the losses, but we didn't want to replace stuff just to have it stolen again. We installed an alarm, put thumbscrews on the windows, and modified the deck entrance. No problems since them.

This occurred when there was a spate of home invasions in our area. A year or so later the cops arrested a group of 7 teenagers and young men who had been breaking into houses. By that time they had graduated to rape and murder. Six of them are still in jail while the seventh was accidentally released and high-tailed it back to Mexico.

I wonder if it was the same group of burglars. I hope so.

I echo the thoughts of the inside job, it looks like they knew the house had some goodies. Your parents have any technicans, or repairmen come into the house recently?

Well, we did have a alarm in our house but it is broken and they are lazy to call and come in and repair it or install a new one

I would assume this would be the catalyst to "un-lazy" them. Maybe to also start locking doors at night.

Sorry to hear that. I couldn't imagine if this happeneed to me, although I'd love to see how long it would take robbers to get 2000+ DVDs out of my place before cops arrived.

How many DVDs did you have?

It doesn't take as long as you might think.
