Can't understand this comic strip.

This is from today comic strip F Minus by Tony Carrillo. His comic are pretty funny but today I'm kind of lost in this one. Are the people in the lifeboat Greenpeace? What with the dolphin on board? Help anyone?

The dolphin is a metaphor for God and the people are looking at him as the cause of their boat sinking. The black-haired guy recently found his wife cheating on him, so his feelings toward religion are particularly skewed at the moment. The girl isn't really a girl but none of the survivors blame God for that one.

The people honestly need saving, the dolphin doesn't and is just hanging out in the boat for fun. Note the outraged looks on the people's faces and the subtle dolphin smile. It's not very funny.

It's clearly the 3 Stooges and Lindsay Lohan in the raft, and we all know how much they hate dolphins. That's why it's funny.

The people were deciding whether or not to eat the dolphin and then a fly landed on him...

Maybe it has something to do with the "42" in the corner?

I thought dolphins were supposed to help people when they're drowning? It would have been funnier if there were people floundering around the boat trying to get in while the dolphin was hogging a space on the boat.

Did the Dolphin break the bottom of the raft? If that was the case, it would show water spewing up. Hmm, who knows...

If this was from an environmentalist's POV I would assume the dolphin jumped into the lifeboat because the state of the ocean environment was so bad, he needed to be saved as well ?

Both of the above need to be said in the voice of Mitch Fatel to bring even more funny to the party.
