Deal on flights to Vegas

This is probably a longshot, but I am in the silicon valley right now and want to get to Vegas Aug 24-26. The cheapest decent time (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) deal I could find is $300. Anyone know of any way that I can get a cheaper ticket anywhere? Any airline would do.

Check www.usairwaysvacations.com - they've had some decent flight/hotel combinations to vegas. Better (by far) than similar packages I saw on orbitz/expedia.

You're within the magical 14 day window, which is why things are so expensive. That, and you want to leave during primetime hours (Friday evening, Sunday afternoon). Change your search parameters if possible.

Otherwise, you're pretty much screwed. Drive to Reno instead.

Thanks for the help guys. None of the deals had decent times or was non-stop, so I had to bite the bullet on a $300 round-trip flight from San Jose (after tax and shit).

Just purchased a round trip ticket for myself and a friend of mine for $161.xx roundtrip from Atlantic City (Spirit Airlines) to Vegas October 21-26 (direct flight too.) Now, just need to book the MGM for $69 a night and then I'll be all set!

Southwest has some ludicrously low fares right now out of the bay. I think it is 108 or 118 round trip.
