How do you clean the inside of your car windows?

Mine are streaky, horriblely streaky

Everything I try just makes them more streaky than before

slateef 06-09-07 10:55 PM

Definately cats...yeah. And some windex.

movie diva 06-10-07 12:26 AM

I use windex and newspaper.

mndtrp 06-10-07 12:32 AM

The same thing I clean every other window with, windex.

lordzeppelin 06-10-07 01:41 AM

I use Stoner's Invisible glass and a lint-free microfiber towel. Windex BLOWS. I have yet to see streaking with the Invisible Glass stuff...and it's safe on tint!

mrhan 06-10-07 02:35 AM

I use old terry cloth towels. I use one that is soaked in hot water and wipe the window. Then a dry one to wipe it clean. Streak free every time and it removes the film that occurs inside the windshield from the dashboard material.

psxfan2 06-10-07 02:57 AM

A few drops of Joy dishwashing detergent mixed with a gallon of water a squeege and newspaper to dry.

eedoon 06-10-07 03:38 AM

ammonia free glass cleaner and newspaper. works great.

cseyer 06-10-07 07:28 AM

Ditto on Stoner's Invisible Glass, good stuff. Use with lint free towels or newspaper, clean at least twice inside and out.

Nick Danger 06-10-07 07:59 AM

I use dishwashing detergent and washcloths, drying it with a cotton towel. If you have tint applied to your windows, Windex will turn the tint bright purple. In some cases, Windex will attack the plastic in your dashboard.

An old-timer told me that the plasticizers in todays dashboards collect on the windshields and are tough to get off. He told me to use vinegar and 91% ethyl alcohol mixed 1:1. "Scrub" the plasticizer off, then wipe clean with a lint-free cloth. Seems to work, but I want to try Invisible Glass.

AGuyNamedMike 06-10-07 09:25 AM

Yet another  for Stoner Invisible Glass.

A bit off topic, but...does anyone know of a product to use on the outside of the windshield to fill in small chips?

I've heard that you should never use Armour All anywhere inside your car (dashboard, seats) because it only contributes to the "film" that coats the inside of the windshield.

ukywyldcat 06-10-07 02:41 PM

No, I don't clean the inside of my car windows. Some illegal immigrant does.

The cats don't mind when you spray them with windex and rub them all over your car windows?

Mr. Salty 06-10-07 04:33 PM

Glass cleaner and paper towels. It's not rocket science.

ernestrp 06-10-07 06:33 PM

I bought some stuff called Perfect Glass at Linnens 'n Things a couple of weeks ago and have been very impressed after using it once at how clear my vehicle glass has been since. I think its ammonia free as someone else pointed out. Never using windex type stuff again.

Paper towels leave lint. Use newspaper instead.

mather 06-10-07 10:44 PM

If you haven't gotten it yet....Stoner's Invisible Glass!
