What charity are you playing for?

Say you were on some game show or something and you were playing for charity - who are you playing for?

I realized yesterday I have no idea what I would play for. The only thing I have ever been remotely associated with is the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation since my mom was heavily involved in the OKC area, specifically with the children of those affected (Komen Kids). But I feel no real connection to that per se as no one I know has actually been afflicted.

So I'm just curious what you all consider your charity of choice.

I am playing for the BBAA, the Betterment of Bandomen Across America. They are an organization that, really doesn't do much, but they are not ashamed to admit it.

I've been wanting to give more to a local dog rescue organization, so that would probably be my charity of choice.

If you want to support gay rights, there are some better choices than HRC. They don't do anything except suck up money and give handjobs to the Democrats.

Hell, this guy has done more for gay rights than HRC ever has or ever will.

Since I had go Google it, I'll assume that's a half question and half joke.

The answer to the question part appears to be the "Human Rights Campaign" (www.hrc.org).

Komen for me. Breast cancer took my mother-in-law last year and almost took my aunt. High probability that my wife will develop it in the next 20 years or so, as almost everyone in her mom's family had it.

Kudama 04-18-07 03:38 PM

:p

But for real, The SPCA. The one they have in San Francisco is amazing. I wish they could all be that good and I would get my game show on for that.

Probably DNREC Non-Game Wildlife, perhaps Amnesty International since they do a fair share of work in my home country.

Only if you're rich.

Here's a pretty good article on the HRC. It's a couple of years old, but not that out-of-date.

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...9/ai_n13610084

Basically, nobody has any idea what they do with their money or what their priorities are, and they keep promising to get bills passed. Meanwhile, other groups are actually doing stuff like targeting anti-gay candidates from across the country and getting them defeated.
