Has anyone stayed at the Flamingo?

We are going in late september early october (first trip), and one of the hotels we are thinking about is the Flamingo. Most of the reviews I've seen are pretty good, except a select few that say it's dirty. I wanted the opinion of someone here. It seems that they were renovating if so is it better now.

Yes, numerous times. I know they've renovated/upgraded some of the rooms recently, but I've never seen one. I assume those cost extra.

As for the rooms I've been in, they're nothing special - decent size, but don't expect really high quality - you get what you pay for. "Dirty" certainly isn't a word I would use to describe them. I'm not in the room much so that doesn't really matter to me anyway.

The plusses for Flamingo are its location, pool, generally low table minimums in the casino, and value/price. The minus is a lackluster sportsbook.

I've not stayed there, but I've been in a suite there. Very nice. I'd imagine that everything that Red Dog says is right.

My friends and I were actually planning on staying at Flamingo when we go in a few weeks but we got a very good offer last week from Bill's Gamblin' Hall (formerly the Barbary Coast), where we stayed last November and had a very good stay. Hopefully, the new management (Harrah's) hasn't fucked up a good thing.

Totally fine rooms. Good location, great pool. Completely acceptable, IMO.

I've been there a few times. The rooms are good sized, and I don't know of one hotel review that at some point someone will say it's dirty. I never let that stop me, unless it's mentioned over and over again. Ask for a room that has a view of the Bellagio fountains. Might cost $10-20 extra, but it's worth it. You'll get a renovated room with a great view.

Got back yesterday. Pretty much the same although they now employ the Harrah's-standard 6:5 BJ payout for double/single-deck BJ, which blows.

It is getting disturbing how many of the strip casinos are moving to 6:5 BJ. Heck, even O'Shea's only offers 6:5 on a 6-deck shoe now.

I have stayed there. Thinking of staying again in July.

Rooms ok, but I found them clean. They also have one of the better 24 hour cafe's around.

I just booked Flamingo. $316 for 3 nights including a Friday. Going end of July. However, this trip I really wanted to stay at Mirage, TI or directly on the Monorail. Flamingo has a 72 hours cancel policy, so I'm going to continue to look for a better deal.

But I have stayed at Flamingo before and it is fine. Nice to walk the grounds and good 24 hr cafe.

Is it? Guess I didn't realize it stopped there.

Just stayed at the Flamingo this weekend. They gave me a GO room which wasn't that big, but it was newly remodeled, had a flat-screen tv and had a stereo system that I could plug the ipod into. Didn't complain at all since the room was comped anyway. Way better than the old rooms at the Flamingo that I stayed in a few years ago. I hear there are still many of those at the hotel.

Was an awesome trip though, got 1st place in a blackjack tournament and won $20k. Had steak and lobster two nights straight.
