Anybody Else Still Need To Do Their Taxes?
I know it's getting close so maybe some of you can suggest who to go to. I know some of you guys probably use local guys but is there any national or well known tax guys you use? Also I'm assuming some of you do your own so what do you use Taxcut? Is there any free sites that do your taxes? Thanks

Sort of. I did my taxes right away, then later got one more W-2 from a temp agency that I forgot about. I have to file an amendment and give some money back

yes, don't remind me. I think I owe my ass this year
I know you normally only owe money if you make money, so I should be happy. It's just seeing the lump sum going out that just makes me want to cry

I'm almost done. I started doing it back in February, got lazy, and only resumed a couple days ago. So far I get a tiny federal refund that doesn't even pay for the cost of using the TurboTax service and owe a bunch for the state again this year.

also check the IRS website to see if you qualify for free tax prep online and filing

Do you feel the same way about TurboTax? How does having an accountant work? Do they provide year long tax advice?

Interesting.. the black helicopters are surrounding you now

I f'ed up the tax handlings on a fairly major stock issue. I am sure I owe penalties and everything. I guess the penalties are like the burgler expecting you to mail him a tip for robbing you

I still have my locals to do. I moved last year and my boss forgot to switch my address, so the percentages are incorrect.
Federal and State are done, though, and I'm getting about $600 back.
Probably not much compared to some folks, but I don't have any dependents.

no complaints about TurboTax. Used an accountant in 2003 after i got married because my wife had a bunch of W2's and 1099's and business expenses. Saw what he did and have done it on turbotax ever since.
tried taxcut online a few months back and it said i owed a lot of money. Nice refund with turbotax. went back and saw that taxcut missed asking me a lot of questions for deductions i was eligible for

I got mine in late this year. Just last week I got the call from my accountant that they were ready. I changed deductions last year to get less back at tax time and more cash in each paycheck so I wasn't thinking I'd get much back this year. Ended up being more. Total of $4600...and I was averaging like $125 more each check last year. Go figure.

Being broke + free online filing + no state taxes to worry about + only having one W2 from last year + no deductions + single + nice refund amount = mine were done the day I got my W2 in.
