New York Post $1.00 WOW!

Well, I found out today that one of my favorite newspapers the New York Post is now $1.00 per paper! Besides the Wall Street Journal is this the most expensive newspaper in the country? I know the NY Daily News is still 50 cents, how can the Post charge a buck for a newspaper??

Considering the number of papers sold has decreased because of the instant news available via the internet vs. todays news in tomorrow's paper. I can understand. They have to cover costs somehow.

The NY Times has been 1.00 for a while...but you actually get some news, unlike the Post where you get the latest on Anna Nicole Smith.

Yeah, I really don't think this is right. They give the Post away and they're in a "rivalry" with the Daily News, so I can't see them raising the price 300%.

The only thing good about the NY Post is their sports coverage, and comprehensive lines/odds.

Ah, you live in MA that explains it. Sometimes when I go to CT, I'll pick up a post. It was 50 cents. Maybe it went up to a dollar too. Anyways, the reading sucks, but it's entertaining, passes the time on the subway. Plus they always have 2 su do ku's.

The post Page 6 is the best!! tons of pictures of hot chicks... some guy brings it in who takes the train - so the whole office ends up reading it.

The post is real light and fluffy with tons of pictures!

The funny thing is my mother reads my copy after me, she is always trying to find the Page 6 section on page 6! She can't seem to understand the section is never on page 6, usually about page 12....Well why do they call it page 6?? LOL

In college it was mine, and I'm not a NYer, nor went to school anywhere near it. Those were pre-Internet days so it was the only place you could find accurate comprehensive lines/odds on football. I think our bookstore got about 10 copies per day, and remember Fridays in the Fall being a major battle for copies.

All the other stupid suckers subscribed to the NYT for classes, and I would just swipe pristine unread copies of that out of the recycling bins.

Looks like you'll have to get your news from just The Inquirer now.
