Do you save text conversations?

I save every AIM conversation I have. I now use Trillian, so this is an automatic process, but I used to save them manually. I don't usually look at these, but I find some comfort in the fact that they're there for me if I want to reference something. I got a new phone back in May, and my text message Inbox just filled up yesterday. I deleted a couple dozen old messages to make some room, but part of me feels sad to see more important messages (e.g., funny comments) get deleted. I am almost compelled to open up a text editor and enter these into a phone log of sorts to save them for posterity.

First, do you keep your old AIM and/or text messages? Second, am I nuts for wanting to keep the old text messages?

Yeah...I may just delete them all to prove to myself that I'm still ~OK.

I used to save my instant messages on the company IM system, but not my personal messages. I do, however, save every non-spam email I get, though. I've got some emails that are now 10 years old.

My Yahoo and AIM are set to save everything now, but I have maybe a dozen conversations from the past.

Just convos with lots of info I didn't want to lose.

Trillian saves everything I have - convos, who's going offline and online, when I'm being disconnected and connected back... it's useless most of the time except for the conversation but I don't mind it that much. I saved these logs for years.

Do you hard copy email or record phone conversations?

What exactly do you want to reference?

It's always good to keep those so you can look back and remind yourself what you said your measurements were and the name of the strip club you work at with you asian girlfriend Cocoa.

I save them and they come in handy. I also generally keep off Trillian and just jump on when I have something work-related to do.

Keep a trail.

I don't use any IM so I don't know if you're crazy or not, but relating to the text messages, I know that on my RAZR, there is a USB port that I can connect to my computer and save all my text/media messages and call logs. Comes in handy.

I have MSN Messenger set to auto-save. No reason really, but it has helped me out a few times, like if I forget if someone asked me to to meet them at 6 or 6:30, or if I need to throw something back in someone's face of course.
