Anyone here do yoga? I did it once and had the workout of my life. I Was pressured into, but was glad I tried it. It was a great workout.

I used to do the Bikram "hot" version, in a room where they start at about 80 degrees and turn it up gradually to over 100 over about an hour and a half.

It was a great workout, but I've gotten too fat for it.

Yoga is a great compliment and part of working out...I dont do near enough of it, but find that its great for centering me and obviously working on my flexibility. Be careful though of people who say you should do nothing but yoga for a workout. Be very leary of those claims.

Bikram is killer. I did that for a while. I actually did some classes with Bikram himself, who will work you like non other. His classes are the longest and the hottest by far.

Yoga is great. I need to pick it up again

I believe that being sexually attracted to other men is what makes you gay.

I do yoga three days a week (M W F) at work.....

My work shares a gym with other buildings in this office complex and they offer classes (spinning, conditioning, etc.) It's free for employees.

It ain't gay for a guy to do yoga, and if it is, who cares? It's a helluva a good workout.

Re: Yoga

Just tried it this week. I'm too broke to pay for classes, but my gym offers classes for free. The instructor rotates so it's not one type of yoga. Monday's session was relaxing. Today's was extremely punishing.

I'm not going to yoga only, but weights (by myself) have been boring me, so I'm trying to stay active rather than staying away from physical activity because I've grown tired of one sub-activity.

Re: Yoga

I'd like to find a place that does Bikram, but for now I'm going to do Ashtanga yoga.

Re: Yoga

if anyone says yoga is "gay" they should at least try it, before saying so...

that stuff, bikram especially, is challenging.

Re: Yoga

My sister is a Yoga teacher out here in the Cedar Park area, and like Vibiana here I too feel "too fat" to try it either - besides the fact that it's hard for me to get back up after being on the floor - so I try and avoid that as much as I can!

Re: Yoga

I've done yoga for about 8 years now, and yes, I'm a dude. I'd say a 1/3 of the class are dudes.

I do it 2-3 times a week, which complements my running schedule quite nicely.

Re: Yoga

yoga can be great exercise, depending on style. And just like all forms of exercise, you can injure the fuck out of yourself if you're not careful.

as for being gay, hell no. Have you seen some of the women in a yoga class?

where does your sister teach? I'm interested in trying yoga but something more at a beginners level.

I tried power yoga with some friends and I felt terrible because I could hardly do half of the things going on. Plus I do not know the terminology yet.

Yoga chicks rule, with their perfect asses in those sexy stretch pants.

I did Yoga for about three years but ended up stopping a few years ago. The classes were free, but after a while the Hare Krishna people were trying to get us to join their cult. For a while though it was outstanding exercise. Three nights a week and five nights of weights. I was in the best shape of my life.

The Bikram yoga always seemed kind of pointless to me, but it's popular and i've never done it, so what do I know. Hatha yoga is enough of a workout, and I don't see what enduring such heat really adds. I've heard it can be bad for you since the heat allows you to stretch beyond your natural ability.
