Hipster - personal trailer. Do not use abbreviations of profanity in thread titles!

Ok, just saw this and I can't imagine anyone ever buying and using one of these things. Isn't that what backpacks/purses are for? Maybe the guy saw one too many of those bike trailers and thought "hey..". Even if you were going to walk/run for a long distance would you ever use this thing?

The page says it would launch a new sport of "adventure walking", but I can't even imagine one of those really outdoorsy type people with all their gear and 10 different pairs of hiking boots using one of these things.

Anyway, just wanted to share and hear what the Otters had to say, would anyone actually ever buy/use this thing?

I imagine you could fit a small baby in there. Might be useful for that.

Actually, I can see that being very useful for long walks. Does it look silly? Sure, but that doesn't stop cyclists from wearing the tight pants and silly helmets, or American Football players from wearing pads and helmets that make them look like a bunch of starship troopers too scared to play real Rugby.

It's not the same thing. Helmets and tight pants (it's actually not the tight pants themselves, but the chamois pad inside the pants) that serves the purpose of protection and comfort to a cyclist. Wearing helmets may look silly, but you look sillier drooling when somebody has to spoon feed you oatmeal because you have a head injury. I see your point, though. As mentioned, this is what backpacks are for I don't see you dragging this with ou on a backpacking trip, or even to the mall. Also, I'd love to see somebody use that contraption on a crowded sidewalk. You could just grab it and twirl the person around, or just use them as a backwards rickshaw pushing quickly them down the sidewalk.

Walk that thing through the neigborhood around my studio. You'll arrive at your destination with it empty.

People assumed I was mocking. I was hardly mocking; my point iss that it doesn't matter if something makes you look silly as long as it's functional and useful.

It's the "functional and useful" part I question.
