Exercises for reducing uhhh... chest size.

Ive been dieting and working out alot recently and lost 30 lbs in 2.5 months. Ive gone down in pant sizes already and doing pretty well. However despite the fact Ive lost weight, Ive noticed my chest is still big. Now I never noticed it being too big before but as Ive lost weight, this area has seemed to get bigger. Im guessing because thats the area not losing weight. I know there was a thread on this before but I just spent 15 mins searching and found nothing, so if people here have some suggestions, like a certain exercise or weight thing to reduce this; it would be greatly appreciated.

i would have to say, probably not. spot reduction is impossible.

pushups (do different kinds: knuckles, hands out out shoulders, hands together under face, on an incline---feet on chair or couch). try to do about 100 per day 30 or so at a time. This will do wonders for your chest.

Yea Im at 60 a day. However Im weary of this because it makes my chest bigger. Last thing I need is moobs to go with my already muscular chest. I just wonder if theirs an exercise that reduces the fat without building too much on the muscles. Unless of course its best to do weights; which Ive stayed away from.

Well, if you're not actually lifting weights, the area should stop developing at some point. The only weight you're lifting is you on the pushups. That means you have a stable weight (or, hopefully if it's your goal, you're losing weight). If you did bench presses of the same weight everyday, your chest would stop gaining muscles at some point.

well, if you can do them from a negative incline (head lower than feet) that'll work your upper chest which will pull the extra stuff up some. also, if you can do a headstand with your feet at an "upside-down L" on a wall and do pushups that way, you can raise and work the upper chest.

the best way to reduce fat is to do cardio.

building muscles will help with burning fat, since they take more energy to maintain and you burn more fat on a daily basis if you have muscles.

so... the best way to burn the fat is to combine cardio and weights. This may not result in weight loss as quickly, but the visual results will be there, and its better for you in the long run. If you are already doing pushups, etc, that is like doing weights. the moobs will melt eventually. Personally, I would want the waist to burn before the moobs. Unless you are powerlifting (i.e. bench pressing heavy weights, multiple times a week), AND neglecting the cardio work, its unlikely that you will develope the huge chest muscles and maintain the moobs at the same time. people spend years trying to grow big chests, but can't.

keep up the good work. 2.5 months is very, very short amount of time. check back in 12 months.

Well my waist is melting away fine; just the chest seems unable to shrink.

So I should just add some weights the work the chest more? I can do that. Any reccomended cardios?

I know it's tough, but I'm going to have to recommend that you stop nursing.

More estrogen will speed up the process for the full transformation.

Oh wait, you just need cardio. If you keep building muscle you'll just have muscle under your tits. Making them bigger. Sure lifting will help get rid of fat but not as fast as cardio.

Ironic, isn't it, folks? Somewhere in the world, there are five women who would kill for this guy's surplus tissue.

You should continue doing push-ups and other weight training. It will help increase your metabolism and you'll burn more fat when you're not working out.

I don't believe, short of surgery, that there's any specific way to burn fat from any part of the body; my girlfriend who does pilates disagrees. Either way, you need to keep doing cardio to burn more fat.

Make sure your sessions are either short intense cardio (hill climbs, wind sprints) OR less intense, but longer (fat burning) cardio, like 40+ minutes of running, 10 mile bike ride, etc. Both types of cardio provide benefit. You want to do the latter first.

Just don't stop doing pushups or weights. Your health is more important than your chestline.

Good luck!

Some parts of your body just lose fat faster than others, at least mine does. My face, arms, and stomach seem to lose it the fastest, then my chest, legs and ass more slowly. Just keep losing weight, they'll go away. And I lost 80 lbs. or so if that gives me any street cred.

Well I was wrong on the pushups, I actually do 4 sets of 30 a day, so thats 120.

I started doing free weights this morning for 45 mins straight and it kicked my ass. Its only 15 lbs but damn was I sweating up a storm after.

And I dont know if you guys are joking or what but I dont need no fucking manzier and shit. My chest is far from needing that. Its already muscular from wights, but as thats slipped that fat built up a bit. Sheesh
