Bad luck stories..

Last night, during a thrilling game of Monopoly, a tale of astronomical odds comes into play:

So I'm sitting on the empty lot that is Pacific Avenue. I pay the paltry $26 and await my next turn.

I'm scared to roll; two crimson hotels peer at me from their la-de-da perch on the two most expensive slots on the board. I roll doubles, six. I whimper as I move to Park Place and pay $1700.

I roll again, snake eyes, pushing me to the formidable Boardwalk. $2000 gone.

I roll again, eight. I pass GO and collect my measly $200 on my way to "Chance".

"Take a ride on the Boardwalk."

So I go from wealthy tycoon to my pockets turned inside out in three rolls.

Where's the justice? Rematch today.

Gloom, despair, and agony on me!
Deep dark depression,
Excessive misery!
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all,
Gloom, despair, and agony on me!

I went on a monumental tanking at the craps table while in AC. I lost more in the first 20-30 minutes, then I did my entire LV trip the week before. If I were to actually bleed, I'd have been the fuckin' Black Knight from Monty Python.

I rallied a bit to only be down $300-$400, but it still sucked.

The ghosts cornered me and ate me the last time I played Pac-Man. My poor yellow guy folded on himself and blinked out of existance!

Cool! I just heard a great bad luck story today at work!

This guy finds some really neat Indian artifacts up in the mountains. He picks them up and carries them back to his truck. He puts the keys in the ignition, gets out of the truck and shuts the door. Now he's locked out of his truck. Worse, he closed the door on his fingers. He can't get them free.

After a couple of hours of standing there, his fingers are swelling up and really starting to hurt. Finally he sees someone and yells for the guy to come over. The guy keeps walking. Then the guy comes back, but keeps a safe distance. He tells the guy that he just needs the door open, and that the back window of the Blazer is loose, and he can climb in. So the guy wiggles his way through the window, gets to the driver's seat, and can't open the door. The leverage from the fingers is putting too much pressure on the latch. Finally the guy pushes his fingers out.

So now his fingers are like sausages and hurting like all get-out. He drives back to town and gets rear-ended. The other driver is drunk, and has no insurance, the truck is only a little dented, and he just wants to get home, so he lets it go.

When he gets home, his mother, who's Apache, reams him a new one for being so stupid. So he takes the artifacts to one of the pueblo tribes, who thank him. A couple of weeks later they call him back and say that he can have them back now. Each artifact now has a chalk circle and a feather. And his bad luck stopped.
