My local news just did a story warning parents about porn on Limewire

Some soccer mom was complaining that when she went to download "Beauty & the Beast" for her little daughter it wasn't really the Disney epic at all, it was, get this, a girl stripping on her webcam! The horror! And also be warned when you type the words "Aladdin" in Limewire, gay porn comes up. The fellow news anchor then asked the reporter if the government knows about this and if they are doing anything to stop the porn on Limewire so that the soccer mom community will be free to illegally download Disney movies for their little daughters.

Seriously.

I'd stay far, far, far away from these p2p programs. there's tons of illegal stuff floating around there including child porn which some people might accidently download.

I would loved to have seen her expression when she clicked on the file with her daughter sitting their waiting to watch and it turned out to be some drunk college chick.

Yeah and your IP address, MAC address and computer name are visible to "those in the know"

I find it hard to believe that people think they are legally allowed to download movies or music free from the Internet. This goes hand in hand with one of my life's guidelines: "I assume people are stupid until proven otherwise"

After the Lord of the Rings episode of South Park, I took an AVI of Return of Jedi (Non-SE), and renamed it Backdoor Sluts IX and put it on Kazaa just to see if anyone would try to download it from me. Several people did.

This reminds me of the one on Cops who called the police because someone ripped them off when they were trying to buy pot.

Yes, I tried downloading movies from a user named JMKarr69 and I got some very disturbing results...

Playing poker on the internet in Washington State is a felony as well. There's lots of stupid laws. I agree downloading copyright material should be illegal, but a felony? Stupid.

As I read this, I thought it would surely be the 1988 porn version of BATB.

I wonder who the "beast" was in the stripping video.

-n)
n. Law pl. fel·o·nies

1. One of several grave crimes, such as murder, rape, or burglary, punishable by a more stringent sentence than that given for a misdemeanor.
2. Any of several crimes in early English law that were punishable by forfeiture of land or goods and by possible loss of life or a bodily part.

Probably doesn't understand why that would be a felony. Pretty easy to see that POV...

I believe you are incorrect. Under the NET Act of 1997, violations are punishable by one year in prison, if the total value of the files exceeds $1,000. The attempt to download "Beauty and the Beast" for free is an ilegal act, but not a felony (unless DVD prices have increased over 5000%).

Strangely enough, I have a porn hidden in my Beauty and the Beast dvd case. I'll have to get that back out, since I'm with a non-uptight girlfriend now.
