The carriers that you mention will not accept the item you need to ship unless it can be dissasembled. If you cannot take it appart you are about to pay though the nose with a freight carrier. What zip to what zip? Can you take it appart?

if you package it properly UPS may take it through one of their commercial shipping companies that they own.

check out the ebay forums about shipping. someone probably shipped something like this before and knows how to do it

Might it be cheaper to just rent a u-hual and take a road trip (no idea on the mileage)

UPS will be fine. I remember the full exhaust system (header to muffler) I ordered for my old Accord was shipped via UPS. I think the shipping cost was in the $30-40 range.

I used to handle stuff like this all the time when I worked at UPS. Just have to send it bulk.
