Bed risers? (I need more storage room.)

I'm going to be moving into a 1 BR condo soon (from a 2 BR apt), and I'm considering ways in which to increase my storage space. Bed risers (e.g., these ) seem like a good option, but I'm not sure...

Does anyone have experience using these? Are they stable? Do they look really lame? Is there a better alternative I'm not considering?

I really appreciate any advice!

I haven't used these, but I have a rather tall bed, and let's just say that the height is perfect for "marital activities."

So there's an added bonus over just the storage.

Actually, that relates to my question about stability...

We use them on our bed in the master bedroom as well as on the bed in the spare room, and they work great.

We actually put all of our winter clothes in bags and put them under the bed in the master and still had room for two dogs (one being a 90lb tub of fur) to sleep under there at night. My girlfriend keeps most of her craft stuff and other misc stuff under the bed in the spare room and there's still room for more.

They're really stable, too, which is something that I was seriously concerned about at first. My girlfriend came running into the bedroom and jumped on the bed while I was reading, and the bed didn't noticeably shift at all.

We have those bed skirts or whatever they're called on both of the beds so they're not unsightly at all.

Awesome! That's what I needed to know.

Thank you both for your input!

MY girlfriend has those exact risers in her dorm room at school, they work fine and are very stable.
