Happy 4th! What Is Everyone Doing?

Didn't see a 4th thread (that wasn't about canadian exports to the US).....

I'm headed to my buddy's house for a BBQ, then we are all going out on his boat to watch the fireworks downtown. Not really sure who all is going (95% of his friends I don't know), so i'm just winging it.

Hanging out here at home for a while, cooking something dead yet tasty then heading out to watch a big fireworks show at the Elk's club.

I just finished demolishing a concrete slab. Now I get to haul it away, replace a rotten sill beam and other various fun things.

Oh yeah, I am whistling "Zippa dee doo dah" out of my ass, I'm having so much fun.

We're just chilling for now. We made a nice smoked salmon bagel brunch earlier, and around 4pm a bunch of friends are coming over for grilled burgers, etc. then we'll throw on Independence Day and drink in lieu of going out in the heat to watch fireworks.

We might burn an effigy of Excentris later, though. You know how we ornery Yanks respond to thinly veiled criticism.

Working a bit (deadline tomorrow!), having friends over for the world cup game on the 65" HD screen, with drinks and my killer jello (tequila lime and cherry rum today), later probably head out somewhere to see the fireworks. Or drink a *lot* and watch them on tv!

Does the IMAX version have some 3D scenes? Please post how you liked it! I'm considering seeing it at IMAX too. Thx. (I guess this would belong in Movie Talk, so I'll check over there for this info.)

I miss rooftop parties. We'd have them in downtown B'more.

Stopped by my parents to say hi to my sister who came back from Spain last night after living there for 10 months.
Catching the chipmunks that are messing up my front yard (I'm releasing them in a town park).
Grilling some steak for dinner tonight with the bf.

I stole a passport from some violent drunk guy yesterday and I'm planning on using it to go to either Cuba, North Korea, or Canada before he realizes what happened.

I played in a tennis tournament all morning (95F+ on the courts ), went out for lunch with some friends, watched the shuttle launch in HD ( ), and am about to watch the big game with some other friends (go Germany!). The evening's plans are TBD, but they may involve a nap, because I'm beat.

See this movie at the Imax. The sound along with the 3D makes the experience.

I worked tonight. But I climbed on the top of the roof and got a panoramic veiw.

We didn't have to wear any special glasses or anything, but the opening credits "felt" 3D.

I generally liked the IMAX experience, but also thought it was a little gimmicky. If a shot was composed for a character to be on the left side of the screen with 3/4 of the rest of the screen "empty" that left side looked blurry and like shit. The best spot for people and objects was right in the middle.
