After a year, I'm back on line! Gimme some youtubes.com, pretty please.

I have been having problems with my own computer for (at least the better part of a year) and relied primarily on my work computer (extensive firewalls and no speakers despite my company's extensive pre-war budget and the tax breaks on our overhead for an office in Antarctica!) and could not partake of otter insanity richness from home.

I ask of you this. Please post only the coolest, funniest, freakiest stuff I've missed. (Or anything else Baby!)

(next stop: Photoshop... )

On a serious note: I have become very upset by real life violence and ...please, none of that. Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, why did it take almost a year for your computer to get fixed? Time and/or money?

It started off with a virus or spyware. I was intent on not paying $800 for something that I could do myself. Maybe not the most practical attitude, but in the time I worked on each successive problem, I have come to understand the functioning of hardware and software about tenfold (thanks at, least half, to the DVDTalk Tech forum). It led to me buying a couple of new hard drives and load different components (including sound and video). for some reason I could rarely get my wireless card (Linksys) to work and it came to a point where I could not load an OS onto any one of my hard drives. I would try many random ideas and often give up for spells at a time. Then one day I got the system to accept an OS (!!!) worked well for a long time until I tried the wireless card again. After three (or so) hardware installs, when I went to turn it back on the computer didn’t respond...click...nothing. I dismantled the power supply, bought two incompatible ones (retuned them) and realized I was out of my league. I was about to buy a cheapie, used tower.

My buddy found a group of people that did repair on the side, free diagnostics, and guaranteed the work. I gave them a call and their business model was flawless. ...Still couldn't get the wireless compatible and when I broke out a length of ethernet cable (bought for earlier endeavors) to download some wireless drivers, my buddy said, “Shit, man. You can hook that up directly, fuck wireless” and suggested a way to do so without having to trip over the cable at every turn. The whole thing took about ten minutes and worked on the first try.

THE END …?

...

PS: Do a Kudama username search in the tech forum going back about two years (I had trouble before the meltdown). You'll see petty ranging to complex (for me) problems as the timeline progresses. If ...you're really bored or curious. Since I don't have a lot of tech advice, most of the threads will be my problems.

Thank you in the tech forum for the cool advice. Sometimes it's fun to learn

And ...FUCK YOU YOU GODDAMN VIRUS/ADWARE/SPYWARE/WORM WRITIN" MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!

WTF? Was I impatient? Did I not let it stream? If that was for real ...it was brilliant.

My favorite part was when the guy said, "heh heh. Hehehheh. Heheh! Heh! Heh! Heh!!! Heh heh heh!!!"

Not since Jeffrey Combs have I seen a more credible take on modern man's response to the stimuli of this (our)world.

Oh shit! Spoilers!

I don't know the name of the song, but the vocals are cuts from some Blossom Dearie song. I'd like to find out the name of the song and artist as well, Blossom has been a long time favorite jazz artist of mine.....
