Art Heads, what type of art style is this called?? (PIC)

Hey what is the official name of this art style? Its similiar to a Monet I think, I just can't think of the name of the style.

There's also Realism, as a sort of subgenre to Impressionism. Go here (http://www.artchive.com/ftp_site.htm) and check out Impressionism; it'll give you a short history of it.

Monet was an impressionist. In fact, he was the impressionist. The Impressionist movement was named after his painting, "Impression, soleil levant".(tr: "Impression Sunrise")

The painting you're asking about is very much in the impressionist style: the depiction of light, the mundane subject matter, the visible brush strokes, the emphasis on light colors.

If the pigments are pretty separated, then it could be Neo-Impressionist, similar to Seurat. But Seurat used dots, not lines necessarily.

You know, I've seen that painting so many times but never really looked at it. That bulldog is cheating! How could I miss that?
