So, I got pulled over last night...

Okay, I'm only 16, and have my junior's license. Monday I turn 17, so I was supposed to have my full license then. My parents let my take out the car with only a juniors (irresponsible, blah, I know), but I'm a good driver. Anyway I got SEVEN (!) tickets last night. I got one for speeding (72 in a 40 zone, pretty bad), another for failing to signal a lane change, another for having my older brother's juniors license on me (he gave it to me, I never used it illegally just carried it, the officer saw it when I took my license out), another for starting cutting off cars, one for driving with a juniors, one for an illegal plate cover on the back plate, and another for having illegal tints (over 70%, these last two tickets aren't my fault, they were on the car, it was my brother's). Anyway, a few questions:
-Since I'm not guilty yet (they have to prove it, obviously), can I still drive under the junior's limitations (i.e, to work)
-When can I expect my license? I plan on pleading not guilty and we'll fight it in court to try to get a reduction.
This is all in New York btw.
Oh, and I realize was being a stupid jerk, so I don't need any posts further informing me of that. Thanks

You may have to come to the realization that you aren't a good driver, Rain Man.

Eh, not really. I passed my road test on my first try, and everyone I've driven with has told me I'm good driver. I just went out really angry last night, so it caused me to make a stupid decision. If that makes me a bad driver, so be it. But that doesn't really matter

Actually, it does make you a very bad driver.

So is someone a good gun owner if they only randomly shoot in their backyard when they get angry? You're operating a machine that can kill people, this is serious. There's a reason they limit the rights of children driving.

My rant is over with -- my advice is to consult a lawyer. I'm certainly not a lawyer but it sounds like you are in a good bit of trouble.

Okay, so I'm a very bad driver. Now anyone have legal knowledge?

Go to the precinct and demand they give you another ticket for Road Rage!

Which, I think, in my state if you're witnessed doing 3 specific violations that are listed under the road rage criteria they charge you with road rage.

I have no legal advice, but I would suggest looking into this: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/bus/index.html

72 in a 40? You better hope the judge even gives you your permanant license. You'll get the same speech we all got. It's a privlige not a right to drive.

Get a lawyer. Not a good way to start your driving career.

A truly good driver would have been going 155.

How about we start cracking on your parents, too? What were they thinking?

Get a lawyer.

Plus the big brother who gives him his old junior license and lets him drive his car with illegal plates and tints.

Definately worth check into since he's going for the "not guilty" plea.

Nate, I hate to come off as harsh but you also need to re-evaluate how you think you're a "good driver". Tickets for speeding, cutting people off and not signaling when changing lanes.

You're not a good driver... you just never got caught.

Not only will this cost you a lot of time to fight this, you'll have to pay higher insurance premiums.

Congrats! Seven tickets in one night could have earned you a free ride to the jail.

I've got a bit of a leadfoot on highways, but 72 in a 40 mph? I hope it wasn't in a residential area.

Yes, but you might want to exercise a little more caution.

They're probably going to take your Junior License away for at least 60 days, unless you can somehow wriggle out of this. Definitely get a lawyer.

Yes - lawyers and judges. I suggest you call the former before appearing before the latter.

I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on t.v., but you're fucked.
