Always someone just a little bit better

No matter how big you are
No matter how fast you are
No matter how strong you are
There is always someone just little bit bigger, just a little bit faster, just a little bit stronger.

There is always someone just a little bit better. This is true with all things except being you. No one can be better at being you than you. You define what you are so you are always the perfect you. Unless of coarse you don't know who you are. In that case there is someone better and you might as well fade away and let them be the best you they can be.

That is the philosophy my husband's mother taught him. No matter how good you are, there's always someone better. I don't know if it was an exercise in making him strive for excellence or a means of not letting him get his hopes too high. He is a remarkably well-adjusted adult luckily!

So, I'm the best at being me? What does that mean, exactly?

My twin brother is much more successful than I am. That means I'm not even the best at being me.

Well maybe you're just better at asking for money.

This is bull. There is NO ONE better than me, and if anybody thinks they are, well that just proves how stupid they are, because they're WRONG.

Why not? It's not like he's the King of Hell.

I always tell my kids that they're the worst, and that everyone else is better than they are at everything. That's a good motivator. Right?

This guy would probably beg to differ with the Baron's assertion:

http://maddox.xmission.com/

From the front page: "This page is about me and why everything I like is great. If you disagree with anything you find on this page, you are wrong."

A gentleman after my own heart.
