My cat passed away this morning...

Just how I wanted to spend my 12 year wedding anniversary, at the emergency vet's office with a sick cat. Dusty, our youngest female, was very ill and today I took her into Dove Lewis Emergency Vet Hospital. She was declaired too sick to live and was euthanized shortly after 12:15 pm.

I will miss her greatly.

Sigh....

I couldn't even make a joke about that if I tried. After losing my 16 year old dog last year, I know exactly how you feel.

At night I think she is still sleeping on the bed, where she slept every night for 16 years.

So very sorry to hear this.
I lost my buddy Scooter this past June.
It's tough for sure to lose a little friend and family member.

I'm so sorry to here this Kitty. From one animal person to another I know how hard it is. Sounds like you have at least another cat to give some extra affection to while you go through this and for me, anyhow, that makes it a little easier. You're in my thoughts.

You should take a look at www.lightning-strike.com It's a forum for pet lovers who've lost a friend. My mom's cat died last year, and she told me that posting there was really helpful for her. We actually had a funeral for her cat which helped bring some closure for her, but it was still really hard on her.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear that. My cat passed away about 2 months ago. We woke up in the morning and it was dead. No warning, or odd behavior. He was only about a year old.

You have my sympathy. I've lost two ancient (16+ years each) cats in the last 6 months. I miss them.

Thanks. Right now I'm feeling like the world's biggest piece of shit for not being able to save her. I do have two other kitties; Meesha and Squeaky whom I've had since they were kittens. Meesha is about 10 and Sqeaky is 12-1/2.

I just wish I could have saved Dusty. She was having seizures this morning so I took her to the ER vet right away. The vet said it looked like she was poisened but I don't see how; she does go outside anymore (thanks CK) and there wasn't anything that she could have gotten into. He also said it could have been cancer since she went downhill so quickly. Poor kitty....

That's really strange. Maybe he had heart failure or something? I'm very sorry for your loss...*hugs*
