Guys & Gals! Ever PLUCK shave?

(In an attempt to nip in the bud any confusion, to the Guys, I mean your "underarms", & to the Gals, I mean your "legs"...)

Now I don't know about you, but no matter how much I shave my underarm wildlife, I still have this "Blue Pit" where my hair grows. You know, like Fred Flintstone? He has this dark area on his face where his beard grows even though I know darn well he shaves every morning!

Well, I started plucking a few days ago, yanking hair by hair, inch by painful inch, and let me tell ya, are my pits ever SORE AND PUFFY!

Not to mention, I've got these little red spots!

However (on the up side), the "Blue Pits" and the red spots have pretty near all disappeared, the swelling is going down, and wherever I plucked the hairs out, my skin is baby-butt soft, and Treesa really likes rubbing her face on my pits! &

Pluck shave?? Did you accidentally poke your brain when you were cleaning out your eye junk today?

I'll stick with my mach 3.

seriosuly though does plucking pull out the roots or just the exposed hair? If the roots come out how logn does it take to grow back? I hate shaving

TNF: I don't think so...(It all happened so quickly!)

I use a Norelco Quadra, and it works really well, but it doesn't get rid of that damned "Blue Face". Plucking on the otherhand...REALLY WORKS!

CB: I'm not sure. Treesa sometimes plucks her leg hairs and she doesn't have to shave for at least a week! I've noticed some actually bleed after I pluck them out, so I figure those are pretty much dead, but I'll know better in a week or so and if the creek don't rise, I'll let you know.

TEK: you may want to look into the Brazilian Wax-face and puss edition.

BTW, your nip it in the bud comment reminds me of the sad fact that Barney Fife is now dead. What say you?

Hey, BTP!

Yeah, I for one really Loved Barney. He was one of a kind (especially when he got mad!), and will be dearly missed, but he kinda lives on Forever for me, on DVD!

...as far as the face/puss waxing, I created a thread a while back about the time I used some of Treesa's hair removal stuff (on my cheekbones, as I had some light hairs up there and wanted to get rid of them), and after I RIPPED it off, I think some of my skin went with it ( ) and my cheeks swole up and burned and hurt really, really bad, so thanks for the suggestion, but I won't be doing THAT again anytime soon!

I usually pluck the little lost hairs that for some reason are growing far outside of my normal "beard line", (higher up on my cheeks) that's it. I too used to suffer from "blue face" (I never called it that though ), but now have a beard, so it's not an issue.

Dr. Poli??? Well, Howdy & Welcome, DDP!

Hey culty! Long time no blab!

Actually, that's exactly how this whole pluck-shaving thing started for me (plucking those blasted little stray hairs), but I couldn't leave well enough alone, and didn't stop there, and one thing lead to another, and here I am all puffy and tender!

Ah, the good ol' beard days...I remember those!

You know how sometimes when people mistake you for someone else? Like maybe when visiting a hardware store someone might think you work there because you wore a flannel shirt that day or whatnot? Well, for one reason or the other (when I had my beard), some people actually thought that I was a Doctor, and they would stop me on the street and in supermarkets (or what have you) for medical advice! No foolin'!

Now if I can only muster up enough courage, and get past that dreaded, nothing worse than new beard related itching, I might grow one again, 'cause I can always use the extra bucks!

I haven't been mistaken for a doctor yet, but I've had far too many people saying that I look like George Lucas (and he's about 20 years older than me. The grey in my beard isn't helping )

Well, if it gets to the point that I don't like the grey in my hair or moustache ('cause at this point, I like it because it's actually Silver/White & not that dirty looking grey and it highlights my hair very nicely), I'll try something like this:

I hear it works slowly, over a period of days, instead of WHAM, BAM, THANK-YOU, MA'AM! all of a sudden, so I know I won't have a heart attack when someone yells, "What the HELL have you done with your hair!", because they won't and it'll be my LITTLE secret. &

No, it works immediately. Leave it on for 5 minutes or lss, then rinse. But it will leave some grey mixed in for shorter application times, so you get only a bit of coloring.(How do I know this?)

I don't have a lot of facial hair, can't grow a beard, only a weak looking spreaded moustache. So what I do is pluck the hairs from the moustache area. I could just shave it all in one swipe but if I pluck it, it won't grow for a while.

D'OH!!!

I must have been thinkin' about that Gradual Grecian Formula stuff!

I heard somewhere that it took a while...

Q: How soon will I see results?

A: Grecian works so gradually, you may not see a color change for several days. Scattered gray may take longer.

I pluck the one or two that most annoy me... the ones that I may have missed the first time around.

Whatever I miss from my Mach 3, I pluck it off. And when I get really bored, I pluck with my fingers.

TEK, how long does it take to pluck the entire face? And how long does your pluck shave last?
