Hawaiian Shirt - Tucked or Untucked?

I've taken to making Friday (normally jeans day here at work) into Hawaiian Shirt day. I have one that my mom-in-law brought from there, and another I picked up at the costco. Both are just Hawaiian in style, with primarily one slightly muted color. They aren't gaudishly bright with a red toucan or something like that.

I'm just not sure if I'm supposed to leave it tucked or untucked... I prefer untucked, and think I've seen it that way, or is that only with shorts?

It's a tough question, cause I guess, by definition, I'm not trying to look "cool". That doesn't really interest me any more. Plus, my wife likes that I wear the shirt that her mom got me.

Anyways...

Discuss!

Untucked. Why do you think there is a stereotype of off duty cops wearing them?

I thought that meant that I was supposed to go "commando" when I wore a Hawaiian shirt.

Untucked always, and only with khaki shorts or pants. No jeans or dark pants.

Oh and remember, next Friday is Hawaiian shirt day! So,
y'know, if you want to, go ahead and uh, wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.

OK. Dockers are more comfortable than jeans to me though.

Tuck a Hawaiian shirt in? Do you also part your hair and wear thick, black-rimmed glasses?

You do depending on the occassion and style of the shirt.

In Hawaii, there is no Hawaiian Shirt Friday. They wear it for business everyday. And yes, you can tuck it in with dress slacks. Especially if it's a pullover.

But you're going casual.. it should be left untucked. Or else you need some short corduroy shorts and a Detroit Tigers baseball cap.

Tucked with jeans, black hightops and white socks. If possible, tight-roll the jeans.

Sorry. We aren't allowed to wear sneakers/hightops/etc. on jeans days. Just jeans, and the shoes we would have normally worn with our Dockers/et al. It's quite the look. I'm in my skechers.

I don't even know what "tight-roll" means.

Gah. That's what I get for copy and pasting that quote without checking spelling. It was the first one that came to mind when I saw the thread title.
