Pics from my Disneyworld roadtrip last week

Last week, I drove to Disneyworld from NYC with my wife, sister-in-law and her fiance. I did 90% of the driving. We got there in decent time. Took us a little less than 17 hours for the trip, same coming back.

Here are some pics from Disneyworld:

Magic Kingdom

Looks like Christina Aguilera

Epcot

Tigger

Why would you paint your face like this?

Parrot

Awesome stunt show in MGM Studio

Minnie

The rest of the pics can be found @ http://www.pbase.com/zuffy/disneyworld06

Wow, great quality pics! Especially that first shot of the fireworks.

I could never get night shots to come out right on my digicam.

Let me see what I can find. As I recall I mostly shot pix of the kids and all images were taken with my new Canon A610 point and shoot.

Those are awesome Zuffy, thanks for sharing. Would you mind posting your lens used for taking those photos?

Nothing's wrong with the A610. The only reason I bought the DSLR with me was for higher quality pics with the characters. Otherwise, my Sony P200 or F717 is more than capable of taking nice pics.

Here's a few shots-didn't really do much of the park by itself.

Since everyone loves fireworks here's the shot of the kids in front of the festivities.

At MGM:

The kids watching the big screen at the Drive-In theater restaurant:

I always liked this repro of a storefront from California. Taken after the park closed so the scene's a bit dark and desolate:

A mirror shot in honor of JackSkeleton. Anyone remember him?

Animal Kingdom in case you didn't figure it out:

Take a second and find the tree woman's face:

Here she works the wood:

Wait.

The "tree woman" got a paying gig at Disney's Animal Kingdom?

No shit.

She used to be part of every day's closing drum circle/dance ceremonies at the Renaissance Faire just over the border in Wisconsin.

Actually, no. We drove in the middle of the night going and coming back. This is my 3rd times doing a Florida roadtrip but there really isn't anything worth to stop for, unless I was driving down to the Keys again.

Thanks Mr. z.

No I did a handheld exposure and bounced a little Morris Mini off a white piece of paper to light the kids.

Wow, those are some great, high quality pictures. Of course the fireworks pic is awesome, and love the Spaceship Earth pic, but the one that really impresses me is the Lights, Motors, Action! stunt show pic. Considering how far back you have to sit in the stands, that picture is amazingly crisp and clear. What kind of camera are you using? Obviously something better than the Canon SD500 that I used during my Disney World trip.

The funny thing is the stunt car show is the easiest pic to take compare to the firework. The pic is about a 25% crop of the original pic, taken with a Canon 20D + 24-105L.
