Ever heard that how you like your marshmallows indicates how you like your beer?

Tonight I was at an event that included the making of s'mores. While my attention was diverted the marshmallows I was warming caught on fire and got extra crispy.

As I put the charred gooey mess onto the chocolate and graham crackers a guy said to me, "They say that how you like your marshmallows shows how you like your beer".

Damned if he wasn't correct. I don't mind burnt marshmallows and I love dark beer.

I'm still sorry I didn't ask him who "they" was. Heard such a thing before?

I like my marshmallows burnt, but I despise dark beer. Mine was more of a speed/convenience thing. I think I learned it from scouts, I could burn and eat 2-3 in the same time it took the other suckers were working for their golden-brown...

Too late. Grunter is already on your front doorstep with a six pack of Guiness and a half-full bottle of Astroglide.

Is that what he calls a Black and Tan?

I like them burnt, and I don't really care for dark beer.

sounds like a nice little correlation.

I like my marshmallows (& hot dogs if that matters) burnt. And I only drink Guinness.

So Buford tells us he just spent the evening making S'mores with another grown man (presumably both dressed in Boy Scout uniforms one size too small) and right away you have to turn this into a gay thing?

You're close. Sorta.

I was at a Girl Scout father-daughter dance and the theme was "Cowboy Night". Mrs. Pusser didn't read the paper closely enough to know this and inform me so I thought it was a Valentine's Day dance.

While parking I noticed a bunch of people walking in with cowboy hats on and decided I didn't need to wear a tie after all.

I drink liquor, not beer, but I like marshmallows whether they're out of the bag, golden toasted, or burnt.

So, thanks for the thread, now I'm hungry for s'mores and I'm going to have to go buy graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows tomorrow at the store.

Whoever came up with this theory is an idot. I wish I had something more constructive to add.

well dark beer tastes like burnt toast anyway, so it's not so farfetched.

I like my marshmallows golden brown, and I prefer dark beer. Your smores pal seems to be incorrect. Maybe he was trying to impress you. It sounds like it almost worked.

Well, I'm not a huge beer fan. I'll drink it, but I'm not a huge fan. However, I do like Plump White Marshmallows....wait....I like Plump White Women...is there a connection here?

I don't like burnt marshmallows. I'll take them raw, slightly browned, or melted. But they're American Marshmallows.

He's not my pal. I probably wouldn't recognize him if I saw him again.

You're right that he almost did impress me.

But if I recoginze him I'll tell him that a prominent niche subculture internet forum message board told me he should be snoped.

That'll really impress him.

This is pure genius.

I like my marshmallows 12 at a time - just like my beer!
