Lance Armstrong, Sheryl Crow split up

In another shocking celebrity breakup, LANCE ARMSTRONG and SHERYL CROW have split, according to People magazine. The seven-time Tour de France bicycling champion and the rockstar musician got engaged in September 2005, when Armstrong proposed to Crow in Sun Valley, ID, not long after he retired from the pro circuit in July. He and Crow officially became an item back in early 2004.

"After much thought and consideration we have made a very tough decision to split up. We both have a deep love and respect for each other and we ask that everyone respect our privacy during this very difficult time," a joint statement released to People through Armstrong's spokesman read.

Armstrong, 33, has a son and two twin daughters from a previous marriage. Grammy winner Crow, 42, has previously been linked to ERIC CLAPTON, OWEN WILSON and KID ROCK.

The couple spoke to BARBARA WALTERS last November, when Armstrong was named one of Walters' "Most Fascinating People." While showing off her six-carat diamond engagement ring, the two talked about what drew them together.

"She's hot," Lance said. "I saw that!"

But Sheryl said she just knew he was the one. "I think sometimes you meet people and they just strike such a familiar chord with you," she said. "I just thought I had known him forever."

Lance also spoke to our KEVIN FRAZIER about his love for Crow in August 2005, saying, "We plan on having a long future together."

I think this phrase is directly out of Chapter 4 of The Celebrity Relationship Timeline

Yeah they always seemed like they could hack it out. Sometimes, even for celebs, it's not meant to be.

First Michael and Lisa Marie, and now this. What chance do the rest of us have?

Maybe now he'll get back on the bike.

Wow, I believe this was almost the same quote used when he and his wife split.

I heard Sheryl was some kind of singer. I dunno, maybe she does it in her spare time.

Everyone seems to be breaking up. Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora are calling it quits after many years together. No hope for the rest of us.

Just because her last album wasn't that good you don't have to call Sheryl Crow names.

Oh wait a second you said bike...nevermind.

They always seemed like a strange couple to me, didn't seem like they would go together and guess I was right...
Probably went somethin like this:

Her: "Travelling the world watching you race was exciting, watching you ride the excersise bike in the garage blows...."

Him: "Holy crap !! YOUR OLD !!!"

I seriously doubt the age difference had anything to do with it.

This should tell guys that if a woman falls in love with you, no matter what she says, no matter how much she pleads and argues...DONT CHANGE.

Lance was a star athelete and Crow was all over him. He dumped his wife and everything. As soon as he quits being a star athelete. Bam, it's over.

The same goes for everything else. What you do is one of the reasons she's with you. Once you stop doing it, then it all falls apart.
