Guys: Did/Will Your Girlfriend End Up Looking Like Her Mother?

As men, we've all heard the axiom, "If you want to know what a girl will look like when she's older, just look at her mother"*. I'm sure that's scared off more than a few suitors over the years, and encouraged just as many others.

I'm interested in knowing what the consensus is amongst our members as to whether this saying has held up (obviously the older members that have known their women for a long time will be better able to address this). Did your younger girlfriend/wife end up turning into her mother, physically, as the years went by?

For you younger members, do you ever look at a potential mate's mother and think, "I'm getting out of this relationship before she turns into that wretched ogre" or "Woohoo, her mom's a MILF...I'll be sticking with this honey for the long term"?

*Obviously, biological relationships are implied (not adoptees, foster children, etc.)

I honestly pray that my wife doesn't wind up looking like her mom. She's a nice lady and all but I wouldn't touch her with a 10 foot pole.

By the time your woman gets to be old as her mother, a relationship is not about looks. It's about commitment, friendship and a life built together. If you are still as superficial when you are 45 as you were at 20, that's just pathetic.

My wife's adopted, so I'm guessing probably not.

So she did, huh? You have my sympathies.

My girlfriend's mom looks about 20 years younger than her age.

That's encouraging, but there are other factors to take into consideration. Like how does she fare after giving birth, or how fat did she get as she aged?

I had a girlfriend in high school that had a morbidly obese mother, yet my girlfriend was rail-thin. I was sure there was no way this girl could turn out the same way. Yet now that she's in her 30s, the girl is now almost as obese as her mother.

My Mother In Law looks a lot like a 30 year older version of my wife. It's almost like they're related. My wife has different features, but it works as a pretty good preview. I saw pictures of my MIL when she was my age and she looked like she does now, just without wrinkles.

My ex from college was 5-9, about 130 at the time. Her mom wasn't so much fat, but was big around the hips only. When I met up with her again last year, I couldnt help but think how much she turned into her mom in that area.

Have dated many girls, met quite a few moms, none of them were really attractive. I mean, a few were decent...but that's about it.

My ex grew up to look like her Dad. Funny thing: he is hot. (In a Brokeback Mountain sort of way.)

Was there a thread about this here or somewhere else?

I've seen quite a few times where this was true. I feel sorry for some people when I see the mothers.

Luckily Mrs. Pusser's mother is a very attractive Swedish woman that looks 20 years younger than she is. I saw pix of her at 45 and she looked 25.
