My Clan site hacked...

It is second time in past 2 weeks that my (Call of Duty) Clan website has been hacked by a kiddie group called "g00ns.com".

I have all evidence and the hacker's IP address - even he reported his activities at Defacement Information website (Zone-h.org). I suspected that he's US citizen (his IP is from Comcast).

The question is: who should I report illegal activity in Internet? FBI? Anyone have any idea?

Much appreciated.

(Dear Moderator: I'm not sure if it's right place, if you got to move it and I apologized for that.)

I didn't think The Clan was operating in this day and age... much less with an internet presence.

How was it hacked? Contact your ISP.

I doubt it has anything to do with our ISP. The hacker broke into PHP Nuke software that runs our forum and removed all modules and added several dirty images and "www.g00ns.net" written all over.

At Zone-h.org, it seems like he was busy with other sites also. I would like to see that punk going to jail for his immature behavior.

So, he changed some of the contents of your page hosted by your internet service provider / hosting company (I am assuming they are one and the same). Why not contact them?

And maybe stop using PHP Nuke.

You would be incredibly wrong. I believe the internet is their biggest recruitment tool.

Our ISP only provide us webspace and our own domain. But we add our own software (PHP Nuke). We have fixed PHP Nuke's flaw version (7.8) by downgrade to version 7.6 (where we never had a problem with hack). But we would love to see hacker being punished for illegal activity.

I have looked up in Internet for information on how to report a hacker. It seems that we only track on their IP address and report to their ISP company. I guess this is the best action I can find.

Yes, that's true. We recruit lot of people through Internet. When they play on our game servers, we usually announce that we're recruiting and told them to go to our website to apply. I have seen many other clans doing same thing.

I have no idea. I can guess that he knew we have flaw PHP Nuke software where he can exploit it.

They didn't only defaced our website, he also defaced lot of other websites.

The "clan" is a online multiplayer competition group. My clan is involved in Call of Duty and American Army Operation competition.

I was addressing his comment about the KKK. Though he probably should have said the Klan and not the Clan. Either way... yes, alive and well and on the internet.

FBI absolutely WILL NOT handle this case. You have to prove much more than just being inconvenienced and embarassed. Usually, you have to sustain $50,000 or more in damages.

Contact Comcast.

And I would suggest talking to PHP Nuke folk in addressing the security issue. If they can't, then you'll simply have to move on to another forum format.

http://www.g00ns.net.

Find out who is their registrar. You might be able to have it banned or suspended if you can prove malicious intent and other standards which violate the registrar's TOS.

Regardless of whether it was your internet game group's page or your home businesses' page, you should contact YOUR provider.

That happens to my clan site once in a while, we let our ISP know and they take care of it.
