'Baby Jessica,' now 19, reportedly marries

I know somebody here had their moment of fame with 'Baby Jessica'. This is a shout out to that person ... (if they visit this place anymore)

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) -- A published report says "Baby Jessica," whose dramatic rescue from an abandoned Texas well was televised across the country 18 years ago, has gotten married.

People magazine says on its Web site that Jessica McClure, now 19, married Daniel Morales at a rural church outside Midland on Saturday.

The magazine says a sign on the door instructed guests not to take pictures or video. The two met at a day-care center where Morales' sister worked with McClure.

Crews struggled for 58 hours to rescue Jessica McClure, then 18 months old, after she fell into an eight-inch-wide pipe in October 1987.

The story created a nationwide sensation. Emergency crews rescued her after digging a parallel shaft and then breaking through the wall of the well.

Haha, this thread is great...

I actually remember that when it was on the news, which is really weird, since I was 10 at the time.

The girl who fell in the well.
Ok I'm really tired of being called Baby Jessica who fell in the well.

Just this past weekend I ordered a camera. The person who was selling it emailed me and asked if I was the girl that fell in the well. He lived in Ohio. Why in the world would he know.

I just did a search while I was bored at work under my blog address and this popped up:

Go there and look a little bit down. Now I'm sooo tired of having people think I'm her.

I saw an interview with her a couple years ago. She doesn't remember a thing (which is probably good).

I think she's knocked up already (or no later than July 2006) and divorced by the end of 2007.

On her wedding night, her groom will say "Sure is tight in here", causing all sorts of traumatic memories to resurface.

Uhhh....

I was gonna comment that it's not like she blocked it out, i mean, like who remembers anything from when they were 18 months old...

Then I thought...

Maybe this is just a Groucho trap I would hate to fall down.

The thing I remember most about that incident is how after she was rescued, the rescuers divided into two groups, arguing about how they were going to capitalize on it and make money. That went a long way into making me realize that people suck.

Additionally, one of the rescuers ended up committing suicide due to the pressures of his new found fame.
