What is your least favorite state in the US?

I was almost gonna pick Idaho, and it was close, but I'm gonna have to go with Utah.

Sure, it's got some good places to ski, but overall... God, what a shit-hole!

edit adding: Throw in some tentacles, and Utah's the perfect setting for an H.P. Lovecraft story...

Rhode Island, it's really too small to be considered a state anyway.

Texas. I lived there for two years, eleven months and eight days too long.

I don't see how anyone could not say Utah. But perhaps I am biased.

Anyplace in Orange County, California. Never before have I been afraid for my life, simply by stopping at a stop light. It's not a safe place to be. I was afraid that at any instant I would be carjacked and taken to Mexico and sold into slavery. How many taco stands and carnicerias and tintorerias and peluquerias unisex does the world need? I mean, I drove through places that even Vic Mackey would be afraid to go into. All the windows have bars on them. All the walls are topped with broken glass and razor wire. If ever there was a hell on earth, it was there.

Y'all have obviously never been to Delaware. Take the worst parts of Northern New Jersey, add a ridiculously annoying nasal accent, throw in some serious hicks (in Slower, Lower Delaware) and put it all in a state the size of my backyard.

Ah, this will be a fun thread. Wait until somebody rips on Alabama and Penny Lane rips an asshole on that person.

Does it have to be a state that we've been to or can we just go by reputation and heresay?

Let's just put it this way...

When they give the world an enema, they'll stick it in central Mississippi!

Complete shithole! (pun intended)

Why all the hate for Utah? I've only been there once, but I thought it was a beautiful state.

I probably haven't been to enough states to judge, really, but I wasn't too fond of Mississippi -- though I only saw Biloxi. I'm also not much of a fan of Louisianna.

You're joking, right? I'm not sure where in Orange County you were, but it certainly doesn't represent the entire county. You'll find some of the most expensive and exclusive places to live in O.C. Maybe you're just making fun of slop though.

California! All the people who can't afford to buy a house, or retire , end up moving to Oregon. It's killing our housing prices and most transplants won't vote for school measures because they're retired and have no kids in school here so why should they care.

I drove a truck for 6 1/2 years, making multiple visits to all 48 contiguous states. Like Johnny Cash, I've been everywhere man.

I vote New Jersey.

Why do all the trees in Maine lean west?

Because New Hampshire sucks.

I have a hard time deciding between New Jersey and Mississippi... but Mississippi is greener so I vote Joisey.

OC's got not one, not two, but three cities in the top 20 of the safest cities in America (my own city, Irvine, is #13).

(and if you check out the sex offender thread, I have zero in my zip code)

Now, if you would've said it was sterile, cookie-cutter and sorta lame... well, I'd have no retort.
