Meet... ZEUS!!!

So my girlfriend's been bugging bugging bugging me to get a dog. I absolutely refuse simply because I know we don't have the time, I don't have the willpower, and the carpets don't need to have poop on them. Even for a second.

But... a friend of mine is going to Aruba for a couple of days so I agreed to dog sit. So here he is.

Any tips to survive the next 5 days?

Wow what a great looking dog.

Give it up. Your girlfriend wants you to get a dog, and this is only going to make it worse. Start looking now. What you want is irrelevant. Resistance is futile. We both know that.

Just take him outside every few hours in case he needs to. When you get your own dog you can put in a dog door.

Until then use this as a trial run.

In regards to: "So my girlfriend's been bugging bugging bugging me to get a dog"

first of all... I don't bug. I hate bugs. you know that. second of all, a dog would eat bugs. third of all, I could have someone to play with while someone else plays video games and writes on DVD forums.

And finally, a puppy wouldn't make up stuff about me and post it.

and bus wanted a kitten and i said no. then finally i realized that's the only live thing that he will let into the house other than me, so i said we could get a puppy. then he says no,we have carpets.
what a pet-tease...

and we can't bring zeus to a vet's because they'll chop his balls off if we leave him for too long.

Plus, we already taught Zeus a trick. he can play piano.

From Die Hard: With a Vengeance
Zeus: Why do you keep calling me 'Jesus'? Do I look Puerto Rican to you?
John McClane: Guy back there called you 'Jesus'.
Zeus: He didn't say 'Jesus'. He said, "Hey, Zeus!" My name is Zeus.
John McClane: Zeus?
Zeus: Yeah, Zeus. As in father of Apollo? Mt. Olympus? Don't fuck with me or I'll shove a lightning bolt up your ass? Zeus! You got a problem with that?

Not quite a puppy. A little bit over a year old. Incredibly friendly and well-behaved. If only they didn't smell or slobber.

Looks like Bus is... well, Busted.

Welcome, Short Bus!

Oh, and I COMPLETELY AGREE about the bugs, but have to admit, cats are better at that than dogs.

At least Zeus is a real name for a dog.

About the dog: take him outside. A lot. Especially after you feed him.

i don't like cats because they run away from you when you want to pet them. what kind of domestic pet is that? it's a domestic runaway
i want a puppy who likes to be hugged just like bus

Funny thing is when I saw the thread name, Vote Zod was what immediately came to mind. A bit of a shame really it would have been interesting to see a Zod v. Zeus debate on their key issues though Zeus would likely try to firm up his family values platform a bit more than Zod.

Bull Mastiffs are named Zeus. Dobermans are named Zeus. German Shepherds are named Zeus.

Fluffy white Samoyeds are named Cuddles.
