Worst Website or Talk Forum....

Which other website or talk forum do any you dislike? I find it hard to hazard a guess right now, but there are two talk forums that I dislike; CHUD.com and Ain't it Cool News.

Are there any websites that anyone else dislikes?

Holy crap! I'm glad you posted that link. Did you know there is a place on that site where you can actually discuss DVD's?!? Really, there is.

Worst website? Any random MySpace page where the person has just learned how to embed pictures and change the HTML code.

Why bother with all the extra words???

If you have an XBox, the amount of morons posting at the official XBox.com forums is astounding. Every thread turns into a hodgepodge of "this is the best game ever created", "this game sucks ass compared to...", and "I'm so much a better player than all of you" posts.

While I don't think this site is so bad, some of the rules are laughable.

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you.
I'm sure people that post covers do own the copyright. I do know some places care if you post their covers.

You agree not to post any advertising, URL's with affiliate id's or tracking numbers or anything which actively promotes a site or company.
I'm sure there are none of those in people's signatures

You agree not to use more than one registered forum account and not to represent yourself as another person, company or entity.
I hope you don't work for a company and decide to make an account representing your company and also want a personal account because then you'd be using two accounts.

DVD Talk is a US Based site and forum and is governed by the laws of the State of Oregon in which it resides.
Might want to mention that it's also governed by federal law which seems to take more of an interest in creating laws relating to the internet.

Posting of any form of advertising including: URL's with affiliate codes, referrer tags, tracking numbers or anything which actively promotes a site or company
Saw this the first time buddy

Posting Information on how to defraud any company or promotion of any kind of illegal or unethical activity
Different people have different ethics. You can't just claim something is unethical for all.

Posting requests for copies of copyrighted material, or "how-to-get/make bootleg material" instructions
Not everything getting copied is copyrighted and sometimes people want to copy something they have permission to.

Anything that violates the trademark or copyright of another company including anything that may violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
I don't want to hear anything about any shady vessel hull jobs going on.

Anything aimed at defrauding or taking advantage of another company, exploiting flaws or weaknesses in their systems or sites
Like taking advantage of a price misprint and getting a price match. That never happens.

NOTE: If you post advertising or promotions for your company or a company you work for or pose as a consumer discussing your product you will be charged for advertising on DVD Talk and hereby agree to pay in full and advertising fee for your posts up to $2,000.
Good luck getting that to happen.

There also used to be a rule against pop-up blockers that I remember about that I'm sure everybody followed.

I also remember back when the site made a deal with some companies or some crap and they made all these crazy rules because they didn't want to upset the companies. The craziest one I remember was that we weren't allowed to have threads trying to find the lowest price of dvds.

Don't get me wrong I like the people here, but the rules aren't the most realistic when dealing with the real world.

I'd say the worst forums would be gamefaqs, gamewinners, or most videogame forums. There's some crazies up in there.

What was that soccer-mom bargain talk forum? Had like some coupon clipper name.

Occasionally some "good" bargains originated there that would make it here, but man was it a hard forum to read.

There's a harry potter forum called chamber of secrets. It's full of little girls gushing about how sexy alan rickman is.

Shit, the guy is nearly four times their age and probably has no interest in flat-chested, knobbly-kneed fourth graders in that way. At least I hope not.

Some of the rants on craigslist are pretty bad.

But then, the funny stuff far outweighs the stupid crap and kind of makes up for that site being lame.

Moving to Pete Townsend Talk.

Oh yeah... they Yahoo stock-related forums are outrageously bad. Just people trying to pimp something they want to unload, or ridicule something that they either are holding the bag for that they shorted, or that they want to purchase at a slightly lower price...

Hey chemosh6969... you know, it's a great big Internet. No reason to stick around some place where you feel like the rules are so stifling.

That's hard to say because I avoid websites that are "the worst" --- But I say that out of "necessity" I like to browse and post at xbox.com but man, if you thought the video game forum here was bad...

http://forums.xbox.com/

Over 300 subforums. And they all contain brilliant statements like these:

"In fact, PS 3 isn't come out yet..."

"3 of the four corners flash red and now i have to wait a couple of months more thatk you microsoft you are one of akind"

"How I know if my control of 360 have a low battery, also If the ring of light in the control start to make a flash y all the ring thats mine is low battery???"

(This is in gigantic red bold font): "WHICH CONSOLE SHOULD I GET. PS3 HAS GOT MORE PROCESSING POWER"

"nearly everything is a hdr cappable my tv is my pc monitor is everything in my house is and you have to have the game being able to souppourt hdr for hdr to work hdr is something that is sussposed to mimic the human eyes chaning the brightness to get it looking like your characters eyes are adjusting to light and im just fine with my lcd"

"This website is exclusive Xbox360 advertising space that MS pays for themselves to sell thier product."

" Why do black people in general feel like they have to make fun of name? They tend to make fun of gamertag name that are not familiar to their culture. I'm guessing if I had chosen Kanisha, Monique, Latoya, FUBU, bling bling, etc.. then i would have no problem right? My guess is the feeling of superiosity, sigh........"

"Youuuuuuuuuuu Guyyyyyyyyyyyyyysssssssss Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaareeeeeeeeee Awweeeeeeeeeeeeeeesooooooooomeeeee!!! w000t hAha LOLMOLMLOLLLLLL"

"Xbox 360, once upon a time, was played online by mature adults who raced with heart, gamesmanship, and above all, talent. Earth that was...... Today, the Earth is scorched and ruined."

I often weep openly while reading.

The first one that came to mind was IMDB message boards. My roomate actually thought it was a good source of information on movies. It took me several times telling him that it sucks for him to get the message.

AICN Talkback is another. Just love how people try to post first in the talkback.

democraticunderground and other fringe political sites make the baby jesus cry - as do many niche sports forums.
