I don't get it. Maybe I'm not seeing the same titles as everyone else?

-Introducing Dorothy Dandridge

-Martin Luther King: I Have A Dream / Assassination Of MLK

-Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise And Fall Of Jack Johnson

-What's Love Got To Do With It (Full Frame)

It went over my head because I was still lightheaded from laughing at the original link. Funny brought!

The original movie is Planet of the Apes.

If you have to explain a joke...

It's the implication that black people are similar to apes, thus our reactions.

Um... do people know what the basis of the series is?

Hell, I stopped watching the movies at the first one. Charleton Heston gives me hives.

I don't think it was meant to be funny because of some in-depth critique of the themes of the show. Just the weird combination of the title and the "related" films.

Well, I would say the relation has very much to do with the theme of the series / movies and very little to do with the title. So, I guess it's funny... in the same way the title of the movie is "funny" relating to its own message. Point being, if you consider the context of the movie, it makes sense. And if you know what the point of Planet of the Apes is, you will understand the connection.

Man, I'm a spoilsport lately. I don't know what's gotten in to me.

At least this is something we can laugh about 30 years later.
