75 Degrees on New Year's Day... A record breaker!

Bah!
No rain - 2005 was down a foot from normal, and no rain for the past couple of months.
+
high temperature (which I don't mind)
+
fairly strong winds
=
Bad News!

Our state is under a burn ban (no personal fireworks,) and every county has a red-flag fire alert. There have been several grassfires recently.

Expected temperature in central OK - 80 degrees

No rain since Halloween

sustained winds are already running about 25 mph.

Expected sustained winds - 35 mph - with gusts to 50

We have fire crews from 6 states to fight the anticipated fires.

Extreme fire warning today.

Same here, the only rain we've hand in the last 2 months was 3 weeks ago when we got some sleet mixed in with the rain.

It's 77 degrees right now in San Antonio. I'm thinking about going on a bicycle ride. Utterly beautiful day!

No rain today (which makes it even more stupid about the Rose Parade thing never being on Sundays) but a big storm is due in that will totally rain on the Rose Parade tomorrow

Yep, my California friends have been telling me about that... apparently today is the OK-weather-window between two huge storms, and tomorrow it's supposed to be a downpour. Kind of ironic about the Rose Parade.

We were having such good weather but the last few days have been overcast and cool. We're supposed to get some good rain tonight/tomorrow. Sucks to have it like that on my last day-off from work.
