Wow...just wow.....

Do you think he comes from a broken home? That way, I figure, he could have two sets of parents supporting him in his assinine ventures. And with 4 parents he's almost assured of the fact that he'll never have to grow up and get a real job.

This reminds me of the time when homer found out many of his favorite meats all came from a pig. "A wonderful, Magical animal"

Only one word for that: snopes

I don't know why KFC catches so much hell about chickens, since most chickens in the world are raised and killed by chicken farmers, not by fast food franchisers. http://www.ers.usda.gov/briefing/poultry/

If someone really wants chickens to be treated humanely, picking on KFC ain't gonna do it.

(I have worked with chickens. I don't see any reason to treat them humanely, except as a matter of general civilized behavior.)

Being humane is a choice. If one feels one living creature is less important than another, that's an individual's prerogative.

It's a matter how the chickens are produced and provided for that is the issue here.

The chickens you see on small-scale Old Joe's farm have their chicken coops and pen areas. They get fed their normal diet of grain and live their lives eating and running around until someone comes along and cuts their heads off.

KFC-esque agri-business farms in situations like this keep their animals all penned together with little moving space and little light. Business-grown birds are also altered genetically to provided for the highest demand of meat, so the birds have breasts sizebly large than a normal bird. Their beaks are taken and their legs often would break due to their unusual body contour.

I LOVE chicken. I am a carnivore. I also consider myself a benevolent person and think all types of life are precious. How some of these animals are treated consitutes felony animal cruelty in domesticated animals but chickens don't fall within legal guidelines that protect dogs and cats.

It goes beyond civilized behavior.

I ate at KFC yesterday, probably because of this thread. Their wraps (I think they are called Twisters) are fantastic, as are the new flavor station options. I love their menu these days... it's funny, cause the bucket of wings is probably the least appealing thing to me with all the other options.

As for KFCruelty... Yeah, I eat chicken at home, and it probably comes from the same place KFC gets theirs. It's valid to fight for animal rights, but KFC is not a valid target here, at least from what I know.

Exactly. Though I hear "Muhammad.biz", "muhammad.go.com" and "myspace.com/~muhammud" were the top baby names for Muslims in 2005.

I've always thought that it would be a splendid idea to put their original recipe skin on toothpicks and serve it as an appetizer. Yummy!
